Kirby Wiki

Welcome to Wondaria is the twelfth stage in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is the first stage of Wondaria Remains. It succeeds The Tropical Terror and precedes Circuit Speedway.

General Information[]

Kirby first enters the sprawling amusement park on a Warp Star, before landing in front of a large statue featuring Wondog and Wondy atop several planets next to a rocket ship. Several attractions such as an enormous roller coaster and ferris wheel are in view. In this area, quite a few Awoofies walk slowly around the statue and will only attack Kirby if he gets too close to them. Two Awoofies waiting in line for the Face-Cutout Photo Stand won't attack Kirby at all. Once done with this area, Kirby can proceed forward through a path guarded by a Hot Head to reach the next section.

Immediately, the player will have to fight an Orabiroo in front of stairs leading to two Twirling Star Rockets. After this, the player can defeat a Sir Kibble and eat a food item before heading through two Twirling Star Rocket-filled circles. Both circles have a large amount of gunk, hindering the player's ability to dodge the rockets. A path located afterward contains two Rabiroos and a Chilly skating in a circle. At the end of the path, the final part of this section is directly ahead. The massive area contains several enemies and a large path around the area with Runaway Parade Cars driving along it. Two small circular platforms are elevated along the path. After this area, the player must climb up ladders in a cylindrical part while dodging 6 Twirling Star Rockets to reach a door. This door skips the roller coaster area. The player may find a switch hidden in a crevice of the wall, which opens a gate leading to a different door.

After entering the hidden door, Kirby can defeat a few Awoofies waiting in line for a roller coaster ride and use Coaster Mouth to take the ride himself. Several Star Coins and other rewards are found along the path of the roller coaster ride, introducing the player to turning the Coaster Mouth. A Gotcha Capsule spawns after hitting a switch found on the right of the tracks after a Gordo. Soon, the player enters a darker house similar to Invasion at the House of Horrors. Many Gordos floating above the tracks challenge how fast the player can turn to dodge them. After exiting the dark room, Kirby heads down a large downhill section with many Star Coins before the ride concludes. The player can use a blue Warp Star to retry the section if they desire. If not, they can head through a door into the next section of the stage.

The next room focuses on circular spinners with various parts of the spinners being elevated. The first spinner is flat with two Needlouses spinning around the circle in the opposite direction. The next two spinners contain Gordo Bars blocking the higher part of the spinners. After defeating an Orabiroo on a rectangular platform, Kirby can find a large spinner with each quarter at a different elevation. Another Gotcha Capsule is hidden in a recess in a wall. At the top of this wall, a switch can be found which spawns a hidden Waddle Dee. Once Kirby rescues this Waddle Dee, he can enter the final room of the stage.

This room gives Kirby a view of many enemies and a large amount of gunk. If he heads to the right, he will find a pipe allowing him to use Water-Balloon Mouth. Kirby can use this Mouthful Mode to clear out the gunk and enemies. After clearing out gunk on three rectangular parts of the floor, they will rise and create stairs. After defeating Rabiroos here, Kirby must discard the remaining water and climb a ladder. Kirby can find another pipe behind a circular platform filled with four Twirling Star Rockets. To make the trip to the next staircase possible, he can use the Mouthful Mode to malfunction and destroy the rockets. Doing so rewards the player with several Star Coins. After climbing another set of stairs, he will have to abandon the Water-Balloon Mouth again and climb another ladder. In the final section of the room, Kirby finds a fountain covered in gunk. He can find a pipe northeast from the fountain and use Water-Balloon Mouth once more to clean up the fountain. After rinsing off all four grates, they produce water geysers and all the gunk is eradicated as the fountain fills up with water. Kirby can then stand atop a geyser to clear gunk off of the top of the fountain. Once he completes this, another geyser bursts from the fountain and a rainbow appears. Kirby can then walk forward and reach the goal.

Missions[]

Italicized missions are hidden from view on the player's first playthrough.

  • Clear the stage: When Kirby clears the stage for the first time, he will automatically rescue 3 Waddle Dee prisoners from the golden cage.
  • Save the hidden Waddle Dees: 4 Waddle Dee prisoners can be found here, their locations being the following:
    • In the area with several Runaway Parade Cars, spawned on a timer on the right circular platform by a pink switch found on the left circular platform.
    • Behind a gate; Kirby must activate a switch left of the tracks near the end of the roller coaster ride.
    • Rotating clockwise around Twirling Star Rockets at the end of the third room; Kirby must hit a switch atop a wall near the largest spinner.
    • Under a manhole lid in the fountain, appearing after the fountain is clear of gunk.
  • Help the lost ducklings find their mama: Several ducklings are sitting around the statue in the first area. If Kirby moves near them, they will begin following him. Once he collects all of them, he can lead them back to their mama, who is located on the left side of the path leading to the next area. The ducklings can be found:
    • On the right set of stairs.
    • Behind a map of Wondaria on the right side.
    • In the open, found right after walking up the left set of stairs.
    • Behind a closed popcorn food truck.
    • On bushes behind the statue.
  • Enjoy the view from the top of the rocket: In the first area of the level, Kirby may climb up most parts of the statue. Once he reaches the top and stands on the rocket, the mission is completed.
  • Make all the wilted flowers bloom: Kirby can use Water-Balloon Mouth to water flowers in the stage's final room.
    • 4 of the flowers are found in the open after climbing a set of stairs.
    • The next 3 are also found in the open after climbing the second set of stairs.
    • The last flower is found in a crevice of the wall revealed after cleaning up two piles of gunk.

Blueprint[]

The Toy Hammer Blueprint appears on a circular platform after watering the latter 4 flowers. The Blueprint can be used to evolve the Hammer ability at Waddle Dee's Weapons Shop.

Kirby and Elfilin pose in the Photo Stand.

  • At the beginning of the stage, if Kirby presses his face into Face-Cutout Photo Stand, theme park food and Star Coins appear on either side as a reward. In single-player mode, Elfilin fills the second cutout if he is present.
