The wormy monsters that pop up from the ground are called Warwiggles. I've heard word that their neck is their weak spot. But what part of a worm ISN'T its neck?

Warwiggle is a large enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Mass Attack.

Physical Appearance[]

Warwiggle is an orange worm-like enemy with several rectangular body segments. It has a bubble-like clitellum and a spiky gray helmet.

Games[]

Kirby Mass Attack[]

Warwiggle appears exclusively in Stages 6 and 9 of Green Grounds. It attacks by emerging from the dirt under the Kirbys in an attempt to hit them. This attack damages the Kirbys and is strong enough to smash Metal Blocks. After emerging, it waits a few seconds before burying itself and trying again.

Warwiggle's body contains numerous items, including fruits, bombs, a key, or a medal—fruits and bombs are the most common. The enemy spits out one of these items when struck by a Kirby. To defeat the creature, the player must flick Kirbys into it until all its contents are spat out. If a Kirby hits Warwiggle's clitellum (neck), the worm grimaces, then vomits up all its contents and explodes.

Big Warwiggle, a giant variant of Warwiggle, appears as a mid-boss in Stage 9 of Green Grounds and Stage 9 of Volcano Valley.

Etymology[]

Warwiggle's name is a portmanteau of the words war, referring to its spiked helmet, and wiggle, referring to its wormy movement.

Its Japanese name, デラーム (Derāmu), is a portmanteau of the words deluxe, デラックス (Derakkusu); and worm, ワーム (wāmu).
