Wappa's name is a reference to the Wampa from the Star Wars universe.

- Wappa bears resemblance to Flurry, an enemy from Super Mario Bros. 2 and Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, as they both are snow-themed creatures consisting of a round, white body with beady eyes, rounded feet with no legs, and no upper appendages.
