Walf is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It yields no Copy Ability when inhaled.
Physical Appearance[]
Walf appears to be a blue sea-turtle with a pair of antennae on its head, resembling a beetle. It's got four flippers it uses to swim around in the water. Its head is tan-colored with a large nose and shiny blue ovular eyes in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
Since Kirby: Planet Robobot, its appearance has gotten a prominent redesign. Its head is now blue with a less prominent snout and is overall more turtle-like. Its flippers and lower jaw are yellow and the top of its head and antennae are a dark blue. Walf's eyes appear circular in shape having large black pupils. Walf has a shell where the plastron is a light blue while its carapace is dark blue with being notably shiny.
Games[]
Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Kirby: Planet Robobot, and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[]
While Walf can be found on land, it instinctively marches to the nearest water source. It harmlessly swims across the water's surface. Despite this, Walf is not a harmless foe as Kirby takes damage if he collides with it.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land[]
Walf makes its first appearance in the Abandoned Beach stage in Everbay Coast. Its behavior is largely the same as before however it will pursue Kirby or Bandana Waddle Dee if it spots them.
Etymology[]
Walf's name may be a corruption of the word "wharf," referencing its aquatic nature. It could also be derived from the word "waif," describing its childlike appearance.
