A Vitality Heart is a collectible item in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. It increases Kirby's maximum health, or vitality. They are usually found in Treasure Chests.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Vitality Hearts first appear in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, which are hidden in various treasure chests in the game. Four of them are present, allowing Kirby's health to increase from the original six bars to ten bars. In multiplayer, collecting one only increases the vitality of the player whose file is being used; resetting the game and resuming on the same file will result in all players having the increased health.

Kirby: Canvas Curse

Vitality Hearts reappear in Kirby: Canvas Curse, being called Life Boosts, but instead of being hidden collectibles, the player can purchase them by using Medals. There are only three this time, boosting Kirby's health from four bars up to seven bars, being on par with Dedede Ball. They appear as simply red hearts, instead of having a yellow star in the center.

One is drawn by Paint Roller in Paint Panic, having the yellow star again.

Vitality Hearts appear once again; in this game, there are again four in total. However, in Kirby: Squeak Squad, Kirby receives a Vitality Heart half instead of the whole heart, requiring two pieces to actually increase his maximum health. One half is found is each level of the game, mainly in the extra stages. Kirby's current health does not adjust to the health bar increase, meaning that he will not be at full health after completing a Vitality Heart.
