Vitality,[1][2][3][4][5][6] called Life Boost in Kirby: Canvas Curse, is a collectible item in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. It increases Kirby's maximum health, and is usually found in Treasure Chests.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Vitality first appears in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, where it can be found in Large Treasure Chests. Four of them are present, allowing Kirby's health to increase from the original six bars to ten bars; they are located in Carrot Castle, Olive Ocean, Radish Ruins, and Candy Constellation. In multiplayer, collecting one only increases the vitality of the player whose file is being used; resetting the game and resuming on the same file will result in all players having the increased health.

Kirby: Canvas Curse

Life Boosts are obtained by spending Medals in the Medal Swap. There are only three this time, boosting Kirby's health from four bars up to seven bars, being on par with Dedede Ball; these Life Boosts do not affect Kirby's health in the subgames, however, with Kirby always having four bars. The first Life Boost costs 7 Medals, the second one costs 12 Medals, and the third one costs 14 Medals; they appear as simply red hearts, instead of having a yellow star in the center.

A Vitality heart can be drawn by Paint Roller in Paint Panic.

Two Vitality halves combining to create one Vitality

Vitality appears once again; in this game, there are again four hearts in total. However, in Kirby: Squeak Squad, Kirby receives a Vitality half instead of the whole heart, requiring two pieces to actually increase his maximum health. One half is found in each level of the game, either in the level's third stage or extra stage; as in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, they are only found in Large Treasure Chests. Kirby's current health does not adjust to the health bar increase, meaning that he will not be at full health after completing a Vitality.
