Need Some More Translation Help

Would you please be able to translate the header and messages on this page? It's yet another photo editor in need of an article. Seems those are the go-to option for interactive media on a site advertising Nintendo games. NerdyBoutKirby Why is the game called Tiger! Tiger!, anyway? Meh meh meh! 03:36, May 29, 2018 (UTC)

I was wondering when you'd get to this. Yeah, I'll get those done in the next few days or so. IqskirbyActually called "Beam Machine Gun" in KSS; after that discovery, I felt the need to say it in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voiceBihm Masheen Gahn! 03:45, May 29, 2018 (UTC)
The line on top that arcs, カービィたちといっしょの写真をつくろう!, means "Make a picture with Kirby!"
The big text in pink, 星のカービィフォトフレーム, translates to "Kirby of the Stars Photo Frame"
The third line, which is in pink, カービィといっしょの写真をつくろう!, also means "Make a picture with Kirby!"
The fourth line, 好きなフォトフレームを選ぼう。写真と合成するよ!, means "Choose your favorite photo frame. I will synthesize with photos!"
The text appearing above a selected frame, このフレームにする, means "Make this frame"
The text under the anniversary artwork for Kirby, Waddle Dee, Meta Knight, and Dedede, 合成する写真をえらぶ, means "Choose photos to synthesize"
The text underneath that button, ※スマートフォン・パソコンに保存している画像の中からお選びいただけます。, means "※ You can choose from images saved on smartphone or personal computer."
星のカービィ means "Kirby of the Stars" (sometimes mistranslated as Star Kirby).
星のカービィポータル means "Kirby Portal"
The four links at the bottom center are:

  • ハル研究所ウェブサイトへ: To the HAL Laboratory website
  • このサイトについて: about this website

That should be everything. As a general rule of thumb, if there's an English subtitle, that's probably what the Japanese means. Questions for Dededetour and Meta Knightmare Returns and Some 2.0 counterparts meeting thier normal forms.

  1. Why Wasn't Taranza in Dededetour to summon the bosses as well as Queen Sectonia not having a cutscene.
  2. Why Did'nt Susie 2.0 summon Stock Mecha Knight and Dedede Clone 2.0 as well as not interacting with Haltmann 2.0 nor does she fly away after being defeated why was that?
  3. How would Susie 2.0, Stock Mecha Knight, and President Haltmann 2.0 react if they met thier normal versions/story mode versions?

Star Patch article

Should we make a article Star Patch from Kirby's Epic Yarn, after all, they are collectibles that have fixed locations, so I've been thinking of making a article informing the location of every Star Patch in the game. Concept Art Confusion

Hey Iqs, the twitter has been releasing concept art for the water friend, and I'm kind of confused on where to put them. Driblee does have concept art, but only two of the final design. The others are obviously not supposed to be Driblee. I don't know whether to put them on Driblee's page or not. Sorry if I sound dumb or anything like that. They can be seen here. Cuckoo Kirby fan (talk) 03:38, June 29, 2018 (UTC)Cuckoo Kirby fan

They're all concept art for the water helper who would become Driblee. Both pictures should go on its page. IqskirbyActually called "Beam Machine Gun" in KSS; after that discovery, I felt the need to say it in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voiceBihm Masheen Gahn! 04:09, June 29, 2018 (UTC)

Replace old artwork with new ones?

Hey Iqs, since we have the Star Allies artwork of DMK and Daroach, do you think we should replace the artwork in the infoboxes with those? I mean, they do have Japanese texts and stars and all, which looks a little strange, but we don't have their artwork cropped out, and we always update the infobox to show the newest artwork. I don't think we should do that for Adeleine and Ribbon, since they're both in the same artwork. So, should we replace them or not? Cuckoo Kirby fan (talk) 04:12, July 6, 2018 (UTC)Cuckoo Kirby fan

I'd be okay with it. Just make sure to put the old artwork in the proper section. IqskirbyActually called "Beam Machine Gun" in KSS; after that discovery, I felt the need to say it in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voiceBihm Masheen Gahn! 04:13, July 6, 2018 (UTC)

Can I make this character into an article?

Hello Iqskirby,

I have seen numerous Nintendo characters in Kirby's Dream Land 3 get their own page, such as R.O.B and Samus. However, Mario has appeared as a cameo in so many more games outside of this, so I was wondering whether I could make a page for him?

Thank you, --GalactaK (talk) 17:09, September 13, 2018 (UTC)GalactaK.

We have pages for Samus Aran and R.O.B. & Professor Hector because they are characters you interact with in Kirby’s Dream Land 3. The only appearance of Mario outside of cameos is in the Japanese-only Mario Kirby Masterpiece. Iqskirby (talk) 18:32, September 13, 2018 (UTC)

wiki suggestions

Hello! So Im just here reading the things in the wiki and playing kirby and this wiki is nice but I have some suggestions for the wiki. First of all we could make more things like maybe a discord server (I dont know if you guys have it) but its easy to set up and people to join. Also we could have some things like events related to kirby ro get people to be more like active. These are 2 suggestions I currently have in mind and I can sure help if any of you decide to do any. Also I can add more if I get more in mind.

NOTE: Sorry im doing this in mobile so im not good here.

DiamondcreeperMG (talk) 01:35, October 30, 2018 (UTC)

We have tried having a public wiki discord server, but it not been able to sustain its activity, unfortunately. As far as events, I do not know what kinds we would do; usually what stirs up activity is new game stuff, but since the next game is the remake Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn with a tentative date of 2019, I don't see much going on there. Iqskirby (talk) 01:41, October 30, 2018 (UTC)
is the discord server still there? If it is can I have a look? I might be able to improve it if it helps.

Void’s Theme

Hello! I'm the dude who keeps editing Void's page. I worded the last sentence like that because the whole theme isn't 8-bit, just a few sections. Take a listen to it if you'd like, it's out on Youtube!

RudestBuster (talk) 00:55, December 2, 2018 (UTC) RudestBuster

We already know about that since we’re...well...Kirby Wiki users. Because we’re so big on Kirby, we all would have heard Void’s theme at least once. It seems that you do not understand what i’m saying. When I said “It was meant for the track as a whole,” I meant that it was talking about everything in the track, including the 8-bit sections. It wasn’t stating that the entirety of the track was 8-bit. Because of this, I reverted it to the original as I saw no need to change it that way. I see where you’re coming from though. Also, just asking, why did you talk about this on IqsKirby’s talk page rather than mine? I was the one who reverted your edits, so I would’ve thought you would go on my talk page, but apparently not. Sheld, Gigavolt/Gigavolt II, Anger Masker, Blizzard/Sizzle Shelid Guard, and Jambeliever Models

Iqs, any word on the Sheld, Gigavolt/Gigavolt II and other Kirby enemy models yet? I know Smash Ultimate Spirits are the main agenda for this wiki, but what about my model requests? It's been 2 weeks, and we want those models ready before the end of this year. Please don't leave us hanging. :( Macdawg (talk) 18:59, December 9, 2018 (UTC)

Please stop bringing this up. You've done it at least half a dozen times since your initial request. Be patient. It'll be done when it gets done. People have lives outside of the wiki, and those lives are important to them, so let's respect their values. Chances are they're be done before the year's end, so if that's your concern, be happy about that. Meanwhile, instead of using your time to repeatedly bring up this topic, how about use it to be productive to the wiki? Not having models isn't our only issue around here; that's why we have the Articles in need of images and Articles in need of clean up categories. Consider browsing those and see if you can do anything worthwhile. Iqskirby (talk) 19:10, December 9, 2018 (UTC)
  • Sighs* I know. I'll try to find other things to do. And you're supposed to say "they'll before the year's end" not the thing said above, because that just rolls off the tounge wrong. Macdawg (talk) 19:24, December 9, 2018 (UTC)
  • So I see Sheld's been done, which is good. I even got Gigazto as an added bonus. I guess Gigavolt/Gigavolt II, Anger Masker, and Sheild Guard (Blizzard and Sizzle) still haven't been done? The end of the year is approaching, and demand is high. I know AWD is taking care of Jambeliever, which is good. And Merry upcoming Chirstmas. Macdawg (talk) 21:30, December 23, 2018 (UTC)

Where are they?

The end of 2018 is coming... Where are the Gigavolt/Gigavolt IIs you and Waddle Doo Fan promised along with the Blizzard and Sizzle Shield Guards and Anger Maskers? Demand for these minions is OFF the charts and we need them before the New Year in 5 days. Please help us, Jamblasted! We need them! Macdawg (talk) 19:43, December 26, 2018 (UTC)

I never promised anything; I only made an estimate that they would be done by the years end. And you should also know that these are not in my direct control; I don't do that stuff, other editors or outside sources do that. And you should also know, which I've already told you, that bringing this topic up again and again does not help you, and may end up hindering you because it's getting annoying. Your repeatedly requests for these model renders, which conveniently more models keep on being added to after one or a few are done, have become a nuisance, and make me inclined to not do them out of spite. You're not my client, I'm not your contractor. I'm just a person, an admin/bureaucrat to be a bit more specific, who does stuff here, like edit and supervise; I don't work for you. I do what I want because I can. People make model renders because they can, because they want to; sometimes, they do other things. I don't want to hear about this again, otherwise I will take measures to guarantee it won't happen. Iqskirby (talk) 20:49, December 26, 2018 (UTC)
  • Sighs* You're right, I'm sorry. It was my own fault that those minions were not there out of your spite. I'm just gonna wait until it's done and I'll leave queitly, and I'll never speak of it again. Bye, Iqs :(Macdawg (talk) 22:16, December 26, 2018 (UTC)

  • bordercolor=#1B1717

I feel you there. I hope you take pride in your achievements, though, since you're steering the site in a good direction. NerdyBoutKirby Bambina! You cad! 05:00, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
I've done some minor experimentation on one of our portable infoboxes. Based on my [somewhat limited] observations, I'm brought to believe the infobox simply doesn't have "brown" as a theme parameter, and thus defaults to red. Iqskirby (talk) 18:28, January 25, 2019 (UTC)

I just thought since there are images of Hyness on the Wiki that specifically state "Hyness appears in a brightly-lit arena" then adding images to that collection of Hyness appearing in unfamiliar lighting would be a good idea. I understand your decision though.

I'll get to those soon. For some reason, I thought I had two weeks left, not one. I'd been occupying myself with playing through the game's story mode (which turns out to be important, as it unlocks the other stages), doing Devilish Mode stuff for that page as well as working on the Devil page and Ravel Ball page. With the recent Nindies reveal, I've been a bit sidetracked with Blaster Master-related stuff due to the new game that came out. Anyway, as I said, I'll get to work on those pages soon. The Chorus of Vs. Star Dream sounds Slightly like the beginning of The Super Ability theme. I don't have timestamps, but I hope this helps.

The point of this wiki is that anyone can find info that hasn't been added and add it themselves. Making it so that data must be transferred to you doesn't make much sence, but I'll roll with it. Dadogking (talk) 18:32, April 8, 2019 (UTC)

I'm asking so it can be verified. Think of it like a citation. In one of the trivia point here discussing musical leitmotifs, each song where it appears has been cited with a timestamp. Actual quote from Worlds of Power: Blaster Master 18:35, April 8, 2019 (UTC)

I might just have to give up now. I don't have any Timestamps to helpout, I just heard the leitmotifs and knew they sounded like other Kirby Songs, searched youtube, found the leitmotifs again, went back to the original song, and confirmed it. I have really good ears, so I heard that bit of Green Greens in Pink Ball Revolution. I guess I'll never have something on this wiki to call my edit.

Dadogking (talk) 18:42, April 8, 2019 (UTC)

Do you not know how timestamps work on youtube? Because if you know where the leitmotif takes place, and you can timestamp it, this shouldn't be too hard, assuming it's correct. I am from Candy Crush Soda Wiki, if you want to block permanently, set "infinite". I find that you are maybe unable to block for indefinite. (You can edit MediaWiki:Ipboptions)

Main page footer

First of all hello.

You may not know, but the official Gaming Footers were recently retired by Fandom staff. As such, the current footers are outdated and not going to be updated by Staff anymore. Me and a few other users are looking for alternatives to replace them, and I'm currently tending to the Platformer Games Footer. Would it be possible for you to replace the current footer on the main page with this one? Welcome to your doom! 17:16, April 27, 2019 (UTC)

Wiki Manager introduction

Hello, I'm Flanqer, and I'm the Wiki Manager for the Kirby Wiki. I introduced myself in Discussions, but wanted to leave personal messages for the active admins. I'm here to help you and your community, and to be a liaison to full-time Fandom Staff. If you ever have any questions related to the wiki, whether it's about editing, styling, infoboxes, policy, etc, please contact me on my talk page.

(Don't take the "manager" part of my title seriously. For a clearer explanation of my role, see the announcement on Community Central.)

Flanqer (Talk) 01:31, May 23, 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for introducing yourself. I'll try to keep this in mind in case such things come up. Iqskirby (talk) 01:47, May 23, 2019 (UTC)

Apparently our wikis share a problem user in common. Since they wanted to show up again with another sockpuppet on our wiki, I wanted to make you aware that User:BottomlessVoid is another sock of theirs. Great Mara (talk) 15:44, June 28, 2019 (UTC)

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind. Makes sense now that I think about it. Iqskirby (talk) 16:43, June 28, 2019 (UTC)

Hello there! As I have done already, I have only made a small bit of edits to the wikia (about 4). So far, 3/4 of those have been removed. As a big fan of Kirby, I want to help the Wikia, but I'm not sure what to do. The Wikia seems so perfect, and I want to help it, but I'm not sure what I can do without my edits being redone. You're the only admin I could find or reach out to at the time. If you could give me advice on how to improve the Wikia, that would be a great help. Thank you and have a nice day! TheWikiOddish (talk) 04:49, July 4, 2019 (UTC)

Welcome! It's okay if some of your edits are removed; that happens even to experienced editors sometimes.
I would keep an eye on the Recent Activity page, as that shows you both edits to revise and projects that admins are working on. Using the "Articles in need of clean up" category also may help. Paul2 Let's just get this out of the way: KIRBY SUCKS! The dorky isocahedron returns. 12:19, July 4, 2019 (UTC)
Yes, so, about those undone edits. The Smash Bros. trivia one was undone because that info was already covered on the page. The I3 etymology was undone because it seemed a bit far-fetched, more so when there seems to be a more obvious answer already present. The Pix trivia was removed because it is now assumed Pix may be a machine, as Holo Defense API, which heavily resembles it, was made by blueprints from another planet.
As stated earlier, looking into the Articles in need of clean up may be useful. On a similar note, some of our anime pages and (Extra) Epic Yarn pages may not be up to our normal standards, so those are some examples of things to work with. Iqskirby (talk) 17:46, July 5, 2019 (UTC)

Moving Articles Without Making Redirects

Hey, Iqs. So, as you know, a vandal... vandalized Kirby’s article. I tried using rollback, as I thought that would revert the title to normal as well. But since it only reverted the edit, I tried to rename the article back the normal way, and accidentally created that redirect page. I’ve seen in the move log that it’s possible to move pages without leaving redirects. I was wondering how to do that, so I came to ask you. Is it something that only admins can do? ‘Cause I’ve only seen admins do it. Sorry if I should know this and sound stupid for asking, but I just want to know how so I never make an embarrassing mistake like that again. Also, on an unrelated note, when I tried to look up Kirby in the search bar to make sure the deletion worked, he didn’t show up. However, when I typed the first three letters of “Mountain dew,” it showed up, and when I typed more letters, Kirby showed up. Is that normal? As in, do we have to wait for Wikia to adjust to the changes or something?

Edit: Never mind about the search thing. It’s apparently fixed now. Geez, it’s like whenever I talk about something wrong, it automatically fixes itself the next time I check. Anyway, I would like if you could still answer the first question, though. Cuckoo Kirby fan (talk) 21:12, July 22, 2019 (UTC)Cuckoo Kirby fan

Yeah, Wikia takes a bit to adjust to changes like that; and yeah, rollback does not rename articles back, contrary to what one may believe. Anyway, I don't remove redirects when renaming pages, either because I don't need to, or I don't realize I can do that. Anyway, if you begin the process of renaming a page, under the "Reason" text box, there may be an option (checked by default) that says "Leave a redirect behind". If that's not there for you, chances are you don't have a choice, and it's probably an admin thing. Iqskirby (talk) 21:25, July 22, 2019 (UTC)
Oh, yeah, that’s not there for me. I guess that’s why it made a redirect page. Huh. That could potentially be troublesome, but I suppose I can’t do anything about it except wait for an admin to delete the redirect. Anyway, thanks for the help! Rock7055 Message

Why did you edit my response to Paul2? --unsigned comment by Rock7055 (talkblogcontributionslogs) Always sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~ !

Talk pages are not for casual talk, especially something as minimal as "Hey <username here>," which you didn't even put your signature on, not to mention the other user you did the same thing on. Had you continued to post messages like such, you could also get penalty for spamming. Anyway, if you need to know anything about talk pages, go to Kirby Wiki:Policy#Talk pages. Iqskirby (talk) 19:48, July 24, 2019 (UTC)

Then what's the whole point in making a message to someone who can't respond because it's been edited? --unsigned comment by Rock7055 (talkblogcontributionslogs) Always sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~ !

As I had just said earlier, this is not the place for casual conversation. Unless you have to talk with him about something Kirby Wiki-related, your discussion shouldn't be on his talk page. Iqskirby (talk) 19:54, July 24, 2019 (UTC)

Do you wan to see the story? --unsigned comment by Rock7055 (talkblogcontributionslogs) Always sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~ !

I don't care about your story, which is going on in the Discussions section of this wiki. Keep it there and stop bugging me (and other users for that matter). Iqskirby (talk) 20:03, July 24, 2019 (UTC)

Big Chip

Just to be clear, this is the only image of this enemy I have, and it was from a Twitter account that dissappeared off the face of the Earth 2 years ago. And I'm trying to make do with it, even shrinking it down for cleaniness. Maybe this enemy would inspire people to keep looking for the remaining other Kirby enemeis like Labotory and Twister, although I gave up on them. But that's all I'm going to say. You can talk down on me, but I'm still thinking bout them I'm just on break and not doing anything since you say I give up, which I respect. Still, I'm just waiting for the next Kirby game and that "Nightmare" Hyness and his people fought off before the Ancients bansihed them and he became one of us (The VA). Macdawg (talk) 01:14, August 5, 2019 (UTC)

Macdawg, with all due respect: Shut. Up. I don't want to hear any more from you. No model requests, no "VA," no "[me and] my men," no shoddy images, no removed Twitter accounts, no petitioning about bringing back old enemies—of which may or may not be related to the KDL Extra Game or Revenge of the King, etc. Do not respond to this message either. Not here, not somewhere else on the wiki, and don't think you're safe doing it somewhere else entirely. Let's just say... I have an informant. You've been banned on multiple places for your antics. If I find anything else from you that fits into the above in some way, or I find at the very least dubious, you're out. Do not speak to me again, ever, directly or otherwise. Iqskirby (talk) 03:43, August 5, 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, I agree. But here's some things that've been hot on Twitter recently. & And that's all I'm saying. So leave me in and move on Iqs. I have bigger fish to fry. Macdawg (talk) 22:36, August 5, 2019 (UTC)

Macdawg Block

You blocked the user Macdawg for a year just a little while ago. I haven't been paying full attention to the situation, but from what I gather, his main offense was talking too much which was annoying. Is that really deserving of a full-year ban? If I'm missing something more significant, please tell me. NerdyBoutKirby DarkDaroach0919.png That's what I've been—Savvy? 23:03, August 5, 2019 (UTC)

This user has been constantly pestering me and WaddleDooFan77 with regards to getting model renders of characters, not necessarily because they'd improve the wiki or because they're of high priority for us, but for lame/unknown reasons such as "free the minions" and "the VA" and "me and my men." Sometimes he finds and posts models that just aren't of quality at all, only posting them for the simple fact that they're models. This person has been banned from other wikis (such as the Mario Wiki) and discord servers for this kind of conduct. It's about time I did the same after having to tolerate him for months; I have been polite with him, I have kindly told him to leave me alone, and to stop asking about model renders, but he just doesn't listen. I can change the block time, if that's what you wish, but do not expect it to be a few days or a week. Iqskirby (talk) 23:14, August 5, 2019 (UTC)
It sounds like he's sticking around for selfish reasons, but they don't appear malicious. Maybe a 6 month ban would be a better fit--that way he's sufficiently punished but there's some chance he'd learn from it and return to contribute better later. That's only a suggestion though; do what you think is best. I'm probably going soft. NerdyBoutKirby DarkDaroach0919.png That's what I've been—Savvy? 23:24, August 5, 2019 (UTC)
That’s agreeable. Iqskirby (talk) 23:28, August 5, 2019 (UTC)

About the Dark Matter Species Article

So, I’m pretty much done with the revision. I have a “Speculated Members” section for characters who people think are related to Dark Matter, and I also added various points in their paragraphs as to why they might be so. I added that because I just wanted to address their possible relations, and we technically have one in the article for Kirby’s species for the knights and all that. Although, I just have a few questions for whether a few of them should be in the actual member or speculated member sections. There’s N-Z, as it looks nothing like Dark Matter, yet still appears in Dark Star. There’s 0², as it is stated that its true connection with the species is unclear, despite it obviously being related by commanding them. Lastly, there’s Void, which, as I stated before, is basically confirmed to be a Dark Matter at this point, but we still have that info in a speculation box on his and Void Termina’s article. It’s all just kind of conflicting, so I need a little help. Which should be in the actual members and which should be in the speculated members? Cuckoo Kirby fan (talk) 05:16, August 9, 2019 (UTC)Cuckoo Kirby fan

If the member is confirmed by the 20th Anniversary Kirby of the Stars Dream Land Encyclopedia (20th Anniversary Hoshi no Kirby Pupupu Taizen), it is confirmed an actual member. Any other characters, including the likes of 02 and Dark Nebula, are speculation, although the aforementioned two are a bit special, since it's openly acknowledged, unlike other things like Dark Mind and debatably Void Termina (but as you said). I'm not quite sure about adding the speculation template, since it seems more fitting to conceal small things, but arrangements could be made. Iqskirby (talk) 05:24, August 9, 2019 (UTC)
Alright. But, to be honest, I’m not quite sure if we can really use the Encyclopedia anymore, considering that it was 7 years ago, and Void just came in and basically threw everything out the window. It’s just kind of outdated per se, though since it’s basically the only source of info on this topic, I guess it makes sense for people to look back at it. I also think it’s kind of unfair to Void, considering that he wasn’t around back then, but eh, nothing I can do about it. So, does that also mean to have Miracle Matter and Dark Rimuru/a/o in the speculated members section? I read in the talk page that the Dark Matter in 64 weren’t actually referred to as Dark Matter in the original Japanese version, and also since they’re not in the Encyclopedia. Also, I wasn’t really thinking of using the template. Just a section with a message saying, “These are not confirmed members, but are rather characters speculated to be members due to similar characteristics.” Do you really think we could fit the template around a large section? Cuckoo Kirby fan (talk) 05:59, August 9, 2019 (UTC)Cuckoo Kirby fan
Yeah, it is outdated, but unless we have something like that for the 25th anniversary (which still wouldn't cover Void), that's our best reference. We may have to say that some of the members not included there are speculative, but I believe the K64 instruction booklet refers to them as Dark Matter (which is enough confirmation for me). Iqskirby (talk) 06:24, August 9, 2019 (UTC)
Okay, so keep Miracle Matter and Dark Rimuru/a/o in the actual members, and have N-Z, 0², and Void in the speculated members, right? Well, at least we keep Miracle Matter and the Dark trio, otherwise, literally the only confirmed members would be Dark Matter, Gooey, and Zero... Oh, by the way, what about the speculation template thing? Should we really use it for an entire, large section, of just stick with a little message? Cuckoo Kirby fan (talk) 06:35, August 9, 2019 (UTC)Cuckoo Kirby fan
Pretty much. Speculation template is up to you. Iqskirby (talk) 06:57, August 9, 2019 (UTC)

Why did you delete the talk page on that article?--File:Reversalmushroom sig.png 10:04, August 28, 2019 (UTC)

Talk pages are used here to discuss the article for constructive purposes. Expressing disappointment that some of the music isn’t included in the OST is not considered such, so it was removed. Iqskirby (talk) 15:06, August 28, 2019 (UTC)
Oh, I thought it was just to talk about the thing the article was about. If you go to the talk page of the game, you'll see plenty of that.--File:Reversalmushroom sig.png 10:11, August 31, 2019 (UTC)

Speculation Template

I noticed there's only one Speculation template, which basically engulfs the speculative information so readers have to open a box to read it. Do you think we should have a second, simpler version that just mentions that the section's information is speculation? It'd be useful for much larger sections (such as one I'm building right now) than the current one, which best suits bullet points and small paragraphs. What's your thought on this? NerdyBoutKirby DarkDaroach0919.png That's what I've been—Savvy? 05:26, September 2, 2019 (UTC)

I believe the reason we only have the one template is because we only wanted small amounts of speculation, as opposed to large sections. It’s up to you if you want to make a template for your purposes. Iqskirby (talk) 06:33, September 2, 2019 (UTC)

Regarding precedence

I asked this question a while ago, but I was told by other admins here that internal names are preferred over foreign-derived ones. One could make the argument that it is technically a form of English, which would be preferable to using a fan-translation as an article title. The HAL developers may be Japanese, but they have a pretty decent grasp of English judging from internal data and what actually appears in the games. A gray area to be sure, but valid all the same as you do not have much else to go on when names are unlocalized; indeed, "Anglep" is already partially referencing the filename since it indicates the intention of exactly how to romanize 「アングリップ」 (Angurippu). Furthermore, I will take this opportunity to add that I question the idea of altering official names just because they might subjectively look better to someone. Case in point: Swordory and Grand Dee. Both should be Sodory and Grandy, as blatantly supported by the Japanese names being 「ソドリィ」 (Sodoryi) and 「グランディ」 (Gurandi) instead of 「ソードリィ」 (Sōdoryi) and 「グランドディ」 (Gurandodi), meaning a deliberate portmanteau. If they were mistaken, not only would the Japanese names actually be different, but the filenames would have been renamed in future games - any early or incorrect names are often if not exclusively only one instance and quickly changed by the next title in modern games, as evidenced by the likes of "CarryDee" becoming "Wonkey" and "Esper" becoming "Nesper" among several others. Mind, HAL as a developer absolutely does not have to do this since they can (and do) port the models as-is, but the fact that they have a proven track record of renaming something consumers are not expected to see shows that they take great care in making sure internal names represent their vision. Given all that, it seems evident that the notion to use fanmade spellings is unwise. LinkTheLefty (talk) 06:40, November 23, 2019 (UTC)

That question was asked over one and a half years ago; how we view these things is subject to change. As it is currently on the Editor's Manual, pages named after internal names or Japanese ones (some of which may be virtually the same) are of the same precedence, and in an instance where we have both, are to be from a case-by-case basis. With regards to Anglep/Mr. Anglep, no romanizations were changed, only the added "Mr." which is a part of the Japanese name and is cited in the Japanese KSSU Complete Support Guide, so there shouldn't be any issues with it. With regards to Sodory/Swordory and Grandy/Grand Dee (which I did consider renaming to Grandee because of the portmanteau, which I was aware of; and while not too common, グラン can still mean Grand, although that seems to mostly apply to Grand Prix), you do have more of a point there, although even then, I do not take filenames as gospel. While they have fortunately received official English names, I find things like Hartmannvehicle (has an R instead of an L), DoctorEnemy (really not helpful), and Float Slime (which became Floaty the Cell Core) not as desirable. Even then, there's ShieldEnemy (same problem as DoctorEnemy) and ShipwreckOctopus (as opposed to Huge Flotzo 巨大フロッツォ). I could go on, but maybe that's just cherry-picking. Anyway, I didn't see a reason to change Mr. Anglep back into Anglep. As for Swordory and Grand Dee, I can understand your reasoning there, regardless of whether or not I take the same stance. If you plan to rename something, consider making a proposal on its talk page like you did with a few other things. It caught me off guard when someone who's been absent from the wiki for over a year decides to just straight up rename three pages, and change the links to reflect this in the span of an hour, among other things. I got an actual headache from that. And know that I am also an admin and bureaucrat, and have been that way since before you left. Iqskirby (talk) 07:28, November 23, 2019 (UTC)
What determines how to handle a case-by-case basis? Consider that 「ミスター」 can be rendered as either "Mister" or "Mr.", and using the filename negates having to pick a form (note how Mr.フロスティ and Mr.チクタク are written in the same game). I would also say that the filename is likely transformative in that Anglep is a fairly unusual transliteration of Angurippu. With regards to those other filenames, most of them still align with what I mentioned about off names never being reused if at all, since all those instances are solitary instead of multiple; again, HAL does pay close attention to which names stick around when porting the files to a new game, replacing leftover and placeholder names in the process when it is technically inconvenient for them to do so. The only thing I can really add is that I believe Hartmann is also an intentional pun on the "'Heart' of Nova" style boss form and not an l/r error since the HAL designers have to see the name of their company every day, but the English localizers retranslated it to Haltmann to make the 'HAL' connection stronger to native English speakers (why do this but later forego Jamahalda, I don't know). I don't think a proposal is necessary for every potential move that should have self-evident reasoning since that only slows things down and I don't spend much time on Wikia anymore, but if this revised Editor's Manual is how such things must be handled going forward, so be it - though I think it is very structurally inconsistent to decide against a source priority and I didn't imagine the sentiment would change drastically. Anyway, the reason I decided to check in recently is, frankly, I feel things are a bit sloppy in a few places (including some stuff that I had a hand in while I was more active) and I wanted to see if there was anything I can do about it; if not, I tried. Of course, I plan to address the bigger issues on talk pages - I mainly don't want another thing like the Encyclopedia incident to happen to Kirby before it becomes too late. LinkTheLefty (talk) 09:10, November 23, 2019 (UTC)
It has always been "Mr." in English; while it seems that in Japan most of the names still use Mr. instead of ミスター, Mr. Floaty seems to be the exception, who does use ミスター but is rendered Mr. in English; similarly, Mrs. Moley uses ミセス in Japan instead of Mrs. The reason page renaming has been changed so that it is strongly encourage to be talked about before actually doing is because these cannot be undone in the same way as a normal edit. Considering merges and splits have been this way, I felt it kinda made sense for page renaming to be similar as well; I apologize that this may seem to be slowing down progress. Yes, I am aware of how an official Super Mario Encyclopedia had apparently plagiarized/used unofficial names from the Mario Wiki. While I do not personally think that will happen, my personal belief is not enough to brush off your concerns. Iqskirby (talk) 18:03, November 23, 2019 (UTC)
Future-proofing should still be taken into consideration due to similar trends being observed previously with the post-Hyrule Historia Zelda books and several Prima Games guides, not the mention the wiki being one of the first things that shows up when performing Kirby-related searches, but I digress. The point I am trying to make about Mr./Mister is that, while the Japanese spelling may change over time, this discrepancy exists within the same game, which is not reflected in the current title that marks itself as derived from Japanese (note that it has been ミスター・フロスティ since at least the 3DS era, meaning that there is no inconsistency with ミスター・スイミィ within the same game). Regardless, I have a suggestion regarding policy since it seems to be a relatively new change: how about leaving the fair part about the article title using internal and Japanese names on a case-by-case basis, but making an addendum that filenames take priority over Japanese in the event that they are recurring? That way, there is a clearer standard in use instead of exceptions seemingly being made on a random whim, and it should always cover final names adequately. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:55, November 29, 2019 (UTC)
Sure, I suppose that’s fine. While we’re at it, “Flapbon” wasn’t just an incorrect romanization; we don’t call them Puppons over here, so when renaming it from Seedbon (or whatever the article’s name was before), I made the second P a B to match up with the English name Beanbon. Iqskirby (talk) 13:02, November 29, 2019 (UTC)
Yes, I noticed that in the page history after the fact, though I still think that Flappon would have been left as-is since Flapbon does not quite roll off the tongue as you say and it still fits as derivative of either Puppon or Beanbon (or also likely, the official localization would have just come up with a better name pun anyway). Otherwise glad to be in agreement with policy. LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:44, December 1, 2019 (UTC)

Hey, I'm looking to make amends.

I came to make this message for 2 reasons.

we should probably have a pre-released content page. (suprising there isn't one.) (A good starter would be Kirby Mass Attack (in my opinoin, feel free to do as you please). and here is a link to some unused sprites.)

2. I want to make amends. I apologise for any frustrations. I just wanted to help the wiki. I will try to only add what is completley fact and not speculation, or just change some wording (with grammarly). I truly apologise and mean no ill will towards this wiki, or even the Kirby franchise as a whole.

Shyguyfan1976 (talk) 14:33, April 14, 2020 (UTC)Shyguyfan1976

Someone is already working on stuff regarding the unused Mass Attack sprites. As for making a separate page, I'm not so sure about that. If the content is large enough to warrant it, then maybe; otherwise, they can probably fit fine in trivia points. Iqskirby (talk) 17:18, April 14, 2020 (UTC)

French names - Accents

Don't worry for accents for the French names. Older games doesn't put accents on uppercase letters. I will add them after you add a translation template in a page if necessary .

If you wish to become an admin, consider reading Kirby Wiki:Administrators. Given your history on the wiki, or general lack thereof, I have no expectations that anyone who can make you an admin would actually bother. It is foolish to ask for administration so early on, with practically no actual contributions. Iqskirby (talk) 20:40, May 18, 2020 (UTC)

Name Translations

I was wondering if we could put name translations in this wiki, like with most wikis.RileyGronlundSuperMario (talk) 18:16, May 21, 2020 (UTC)

If you're referring to official translations, we do have a Nomenclature template, and have been making some progress on putting that on pages. Iqskirby (talk) 18:52, May 21, 2020 (UTC)

Hey Iqs! Could you please block user Valentinlovetrain? He's been messing around with the Kine page. Please act as soon as you can because I don't think they'll stop any time soon... Thanks.  UPDATE: Please also block Oddscrypt. Theese two have been messing with my talk page... Vyroz (talk) 00:55, May 22, 2020 (UTC)

Dealt with. Sorry you had to endure that. Iqskirby (talk) 02:05, May 22, 2020 (UTC)
It's fine, actually. I'm so glad you're here. Thanks. Vyroz (talk) 02:13, May 22, 2020 (UTC)

Just wanted to say sorry about the way the vandalism on the Bronto Burt page was dealt with. I was undoing the other renamings by the same user, but when I got to the Bronto Burt page, someone had already noticed it and botched it a bit by moving it to Kirby Wiki rather than Main, and things kinda went sideways from there, with the whole talk page issue. Apologies if this situation made things harder for you. Thanks for maintaining the wiki, it's important work. CyberTripping (talk) 17:44, May 22, 2020 (UTC)

No worries. I appreciate that someone was around to fix it while I was away. Iqskirby (talk) 17:49, May 22, 2020 (UTC)

Name Declension

Should we add any detail on name declension in Romance languages?RileyGronlundSuperMario (talk) 22:07, May 22, 2020 (UTC)

Ribbon's Name in Romance Languages

In what Romance languages besides French does Ribbon the fairy have a different name from her English name? (She uses the name Ribon in Japanese.) If she still uses the English name spelling, does the translated name have a different pronunciation?RileyGronlundSuperMario (talk) 22:18, May 22, 2020 (UTC)

I assume all Romance languages have similar pronunciation rules. I’m not a language expert, though. Iqskirby (talk) 22:21, May 22, 2020 (UTC)

Bubble's spanish name

Hey! So I saw the note about bubble's name. I got the European and American versions of the game. I set the DS's firmware to spanish on both. When loading the games, the american version stayed on english while the European changed to spanish. In the European version of the game, it's name is "Pompas". I don't really know if there's a Latin America Spanish version. What I could recommend is leaving Pompas as it's default name for now.

Screenshot of the ability.

On a side note, if you ever need more spanish translation help, I'd be delighted to help. Vyroz (talk) 23:08, May 25, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, I appreciate it. Chances are there aren't different Spanish versions because it's a handheld game, and there would be no need for NTSC and PAL versions. Although I suppose that doesn't exactly explain any localization differences for Switch games. Iqskirby (talk) 23:40, May 25, 2020 (UTC)

I have the Blender links for the Propeller's Star Allies design, Gigavolt II, and the Shield Guards if you want to make something of them. (, & Frubii gave me these links, just in case you're wondering. Hope to see results, and have a good day. Macdawg (talk) 12:27, June 5, 2020 (UTC)

I don't do renders. Leave me alone. Iqskirby (talk) 17:13, June 5, 2020 (UTC)
I know you don't. They're for other people who do renders. I was just giving these links for people to work on and for you to share, despite the fact you don't do renders. Macdawg (talk) 17:37, June 5, 2020 (UTC)
If you want to share them, make a blog post, or spread the word elsewhere. My talk page is not your dumping grounds, and I've already told you before to never speak to me again. Iqskirby (talk) 17:38, June 5, 2020 (UTC)

Workshop Pages

Hey, dumb question but, how do I make my own workshop page? I'm working on a new page, but I've never really made one before and I'd like to post a rough draft to see how the finished product looks, but I don't want to make a partially broken page. Currykirby (talk) 23:11, June 9, 2020 (UTC)

Go to your user/profile page. Go to the website URL, and then add "/Workshop" to the end, and you'll have a workshop page. Iqskirby (talk) 00:31, June 10, 2020 (UTC)

OK, Thank You! Currykirby (talk) 00:41, June 10, 2020 (UTC)

OK, so I am a complete idiot. I forgot to capitalize the w in Workshop, and now it recognizes it as an external link. How do I undo/delete a page? (I'm assuming only admins have that power.) Sorry for making your life harder! Currykirby (talk) 01:30, June 10, 2020 (UTC)

Don't worry. I can delete the page for you. Iqskirby (talk) 01:46, June 10, 2020 (UTC)

Morpho Knight

Was there a certain section that I did that you didn't take too kindly to that would want you to revert it back? The Battle section? Etymology? Trivia? ThunderBrine (talk) 10:18, August 10, 2020 (UTC)

The nomenclature template is fairly bulky. Adding in our full etymology details on its English and Japanese names serves to make it bulkier, and disproportionately so. Your translations of its Japanese name are also questionable. I do not think it would be "Valflame," because there is no kana in its name that uses the M sound; "Valfly" also has this problem because the pronunciation of ei (as represented in the romanization) corresponds to the long "A" sound, not the long "I" sound. Since this is an English Wiki, I find it questionable to have its Japanese pause screen quotes written at face value; it features no translation or anything to inform a reader that doesn't speak Japanese. Your contributions to the trivia section also appear to be plagiarized from Wikirby, which I assume is also your source for the attack names as well. Iqskirby (talk) 16:43, August 10, 2020 (UTC)
Would any of the information be considered salvageable? The Chinese translation, as well as the acknowledgment of the other languages' names, is most likely fine, right? The battle section could probably be stripped of any attack names from the Famitsu. I think the translation of "flame" would be appropriate. (BTW, I only came to the conclusion of Valfly because of the ending kanji of Butterfly). The detail of Swallowtail Butterflies might also be fine. This section of Trivia might be acceptable:
  • Morpho Knight EX's Japanese caption, 災来する黒き極蝶, can be literally translated as "Disaster Bringer Black Butterfly Returns" (災来 being a pun of disaster and 再来 return). This format is shared by Francisca, Flamberge and Zan Partizanne in their Story Mode 2nd battle captions, in which 災来する— (lit. "Disaster Bringer XXX Returns") is localized as "Bringer of XXX" in the English version.
  • Morpho Knight EX's splash screen cannot be skipped in Soul Melter EX of The Ultimate Choice.

ThunderBrine (talk) 23:01, August 10, 2020 (UTC)

Yes, of course the information is "salvageable." It's not like the information is incorrect because of how we used it. But, again, we shouldn't plagiarize other sources; they should at least be reworded so that they're not verbatim. The nomenclature thing can come back assuming all the listed names are correct (most of which can be verified in a video, image, or playing the game yourself with the right language settings), but I don't agree with putting the paragraph-long etymology explanations within that template; that can be separate. Acknowledging Famitsu is fine, but putting in the attack names can make things a little awkward.
I'll make an effort to handle the situation myself. Iqskirby (talk) 00:23, August 11, 2020 (UTC)

Category cleanup

Do you mind if I do some cleanup on the wiki's categories? Recommended practice is to have the top categories look something like this:

  • Category:Kirby Wiki -- main category for the entire wiki
    • Category:Kirby series -- pages and subcategories for the entire Kirby franchise
      • subcategory for each game, anime, etc
    • Category:Community -- pages and subcategories for wiki-related stuff -- wiki rules, templates, maintenance, user blogs, etc

Separating game-info from wiki-info in this way would make the categories more useful for browsing.

Sure, go on ahead. Iqskirby (talk) 23:49, August 18, 2020 (UTC)

stop changing my edits on the Bandana Waddle Dee page

We need to talk. first of all "Bandana dee" ism't a cannon name. as far as i know its only a fan nickname and what he was called on the Kirby tripple deluxe website. second, i don't thibk Bandana waddle dee works for Dedede any more. like think about it, the last time he was shown to be working for dedede was in revenge of the King which was also the first time. sense then hes been shown to be by himself, or on Kirby's side. infact id say he's more of Kirby's sidekick (in spin offs that is). in Kirby and the rainbow curse , Kirby battle royale, and in Kirby fighters 2 (kinda) he is right there by Kirby's side. hopfully you understand. and if you don't...         well...           you know what they say

Fishdinners (talk) 00:14, September 25, 2020 (UTC)fishdinners

What he's called on the Kirby: Triple Deluxe website is still valid. It is an official source that used the name, therefore it's fine. Now, being Dedede's sidekick is something that can be changed, since, as you say, he hasn't been doing much work with Dedede, and seems to be more often in opposition of him by being Kirby's ally. Now, if you're going to have a dispute with another editor, you should probably stop editing the page in question until a consensus is made, if one can be made at all. But you don't seem to care enough about that kind of conduct, being incredibly adamant about your point of view, not waiting for the other's response. That kind of behavior is not welcome here. You've received a three day block. Come back when you're a little more mature. Iqskirby (talk)

I feel like asking for permission/clarification before making this kind of an edit

For the page on the character Kogoesou in Kirby's Dream Land 3. The etymology says it's name originates from 凝らす/Kogorasu. I think it's more likely that it originates from 凍える/Kogoeru, which also means "to freeze," plus " そう/sou," which would end up as "凍えそう/Kogoesou," the character's name, which I think means "seemingly-frozen" (however, I'm not fluent, so I may be wrong).Your thoughts? (also: I hope nothing comes out wrong. I'm using source editor since I can't get the "add topic" option to work correctly [it won't let me type anything below the subject line)

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 00:22, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

Yes, the etymology on the page is a bit dated, by the looks of it, being over a year old. Both words feature "kogo," which is associated with freezing; two particular kanji that fulfill this purpose are 凍 and 凝, although their exact specifics are uncertain to me. As you mention, sou can mean "seeming," to which the full name can probably be considered as meaning "seemingly frozen" or the likes. Iqskirby (talk) 01:07, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

K! Should I edit the page to mention that? (maybe not replace, but at least mention)

(Also: The main reason I think it's more likely coming from the words Kogoeru and Sou is partially because Kogoeru is, from what I can tell, more commonly used. Or at least, well... I often use the online dictionary, and it says if a word is commonly used or not. It said that for Kogoeru, but not for Kogorasu. Also because Sou is auxiliary and attached to the stem of a word's masu-form, and the masu-form for Kogoeru is Kogoemasu, so the "stem" would be Kogoe.

...I think. Again, I'm not fluent and I'm mainly going off what Jisho says about the word. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about anything)

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 01:28, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

I am by no means fluent in Japanese either. My main tool for Japanese translation (Google Translate aside, which can only do so much) is RomajiDesu. Based on the popularity rank of both kanji, assuming that's what popularity rank entails, kogoeru is more common than kogorasu, and more appropriate given the name kogoesou. It also notes that sou is a suffix used on Masu-stem verbs. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, your conjecture regarding the name is probably accurate. You're free to edit the page to include this revision as you see fit. Iqskirby (talk) 01:58, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

K. Thanks!

Something that bugs me about how this wiki translates Dedede's name

Ok, so, Dedede's Japanese name, デデデ大王 (Dedede Daiou), is translated as "Dedede the Great" on this wiki.

大王 can also mean "great king" (in fact, that's the only way I've seen it translated in online dictionaries), and, considering how Dedede is the (albeit self-proclaimed) KING of Dream Land, and localizations of Kirby games have "king" in his name, wouldn't it make more sense to translate it as "Great King Dedede" instead?

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 19:50, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

When present by itself, such as when being used as a title, 大王 does in fact mean "great king" (as the sum of its parts are literally great/big and king, which is referenced in Robobot's stickers); this translation is used in Revenge of the King, where Bandana Waddle Dee rather frequently refers to Dedede by the title of "Great King." However, when used in tandem with a name, it doesn't quite work out that way. Aside from, in my opinion, Great King Dedede sounding a bit clunky (in comparison to just King Dedede), using it as "the Great" is valid, as noted here, noting a translation of "Alexander the Great," which uses the same 大王 suffix. I can understand the discrepancy about the name, since he's called "King Dedede" in localization as opposed to "Dedede the Great," but this feels like the most appropriate translation. Iqskirby (talk) 20:18, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Ok! Thanks for explaining. MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 21:14, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for asking. I know there are some people who'd probably just go with their own translation because they think they're right instead of questioning why it is the way it is. Of course, I believe I'm right too, but I also have some amount of research to back it up. Iqskirby (talk) 23:16, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Turning "Talk pages" into "Message Walls"

Why don't u turn "Talk pages" into "Message Walls". It's easier to send messages. --unsigned comment by Shadow Dedede (talkblogcontributionslogs) Always sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~ !

The most simple answer is "because I don't feel like it." For a maybe more satisfactory answer, this is a decently old wiki, being around for over a decade. And while you may believe that is more of a reason to add "progress," like new features, you may be surprised to learn that we're not always positive about the new features and changes that wikia/fandom has in store for us, most of which are forced and not something that we can back pedal on. While a message wall may seem more convenient, I don't see much a reason for it outside of users that forget their signatures and maybe have to scroll down the entire talk page just to get to their most recent message. Changing to message walls also begs the question of how the existing talk pages themselves will be impacted. I may sound like some old coot who hates change or something, but the answer is no, and that's probably the way it's going to be. That's not to say I think every wiki should be like this, but this one's not changing anytime soon. Iqskirby (talk) 17:56, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

Reporting user RPC AUTHORITY

They started an argument with me over whether or not Taranza has a chance of being in Smash, but they aren't making good points, I can't understand their grammar, and when I point out how their grammar is too hard to understand (or when I really just say ANYTHING, like how I don't want them to call me "bro"), they call me "mean" and say I'm not being nice, and think that it works perfectly well as an argument against me thinking Taranza has a chance. They're very repetitive about it too. Please make them stop. I think they might be underage, or at least very immature. The specific thread:

They're also now repeatedly replying to it and calling me "not nice" (once again), even when I wasn't really trying to be mean (they claimed I called them "dumb," which I never did). I point out bad grammar with a LOT of people, it's not personal, and I said I won't judge them if English isn't their first language, just that they should probably admit it.

Basically: Help me.

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 00:19, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

New incident appears to have started with RPC AUTHORITY

I just saw this pop up, looked out of curiosity, and it's... immature by itself, and, so far, doesn't show many signs of improvement. I highly suspect that RPC is underage because of things like this, because I remember being more mature than this when I was 11 (while, of course, my experience doesn't count for everyone, I still think it could be a potential sign of them at least being young, especially considering how atrocious their grammar and spelling are. Like, while that can be a sign of more than just underage usage, like not being fluent in English, I'd say that both bad spelling and immaturity combined are at least a sign. However, since I have no confirmation, I cannot directly prove this, I just theorize it)

I think they should at least have this pointed out to them instead of just having the posts deleted. They're never going to learn unless a staff member calls them out for it. Just deleting the posts doesn't fix the user's behavior.

I know that, on multiple wikis I've been on, bringing drama from other wikis is not allowed. I don't know about this wiki, but I'd assume the same thing. RPC said it was a Minecraft user. I'm not sure if they mean in the game itself or on the Minecraft Wiki, though. However, it still just... isn't the right place to bring something like that up, especially in the context of saying "all of you people reading this are going to go attack this user for being mean to me, and if you don't then you approve of bullying" (especially since RPC's idea of someone being "mean" to them, well... the previous incident with them kinda proves that they have no clue what it actually means to be mean).

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 18:39, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

I assume the "going to Minecraft" thing is likely a reference to Steve's Smash Ultimate trailer, where Mario was punched by Sonic, resulting in him meeting Steve; I don't know who this Chocolate Fan is, but that's not my business. Anyway, it seems like the issue is being dealt with by another admin, one who is more frequently around our discussion area. If you have any more issues with this user, feel free to tell Meta Kirby52. There is also a way to report posts without directly talking to an admin, which may be more preferable. Iqskirby (talk) 20:14, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 20:24, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

There's a way to report posts or comments in discussions; just click on the three dots on the top right of someone's post/reply to get a dropdown with that option. Alternatively, you can tag users by using @ and following it with their username. As I suggested, it may be best to tag the admin user Meta Kirby52, who is more frequently patrolling the discussions area. Iqskirby (talk) 21:44, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 22:29, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

only here because I accidentally clicked "save edit" before I even typed in the reason why I edited the Magolor page

Changing "of" to "from" may seem like a small, meaningless change, but it actually changes the meaning a lot.

Saying "Magolor's liberation of his crimes" implies some sort of freeing of the crimes. Saying "Magolor's liberation from his crimes" (as was said in the original interview) implies that he's the one being freed, freed from his wrongdoings.

Explaining it here just in case.

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 03:14, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

You fixed a direct quote. Nothing else really needs to be said. Iqskirby (talk) 04:41, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

May I fix some of the Kirby Cafe translations? I've noticed some... problems

Example: メタナイトがマントからこっそり取りだすフォンダンショコラ

Wiki Translation: Meta Knight's Fondant Chocolate that he sneaks out with his cloak

My Translation: Fondant au chocolat that Meta Knight sneakily takes out of his cape

The reasons why mine is different;

  • The sentence/title isn't possessive.
  • While "Manto" is the word "cloak," the thing is... Meta Knight wears a cape. It's referred to as a cape.
  • From what I can tell, フォンダンショコラ IS the dish fondant au chocolat.
  • "Kara" is NOT the equivalent to the English word "with" in any way.

A lot of the Kirby Cafe menu translations feel... way too awkward. English is my first language, I think I'd be able to tell...

May I make some corrections? (Also, if I do, when a name appears, should I just go with the official English name? Like, for example, should I just put "King Dedede" for "Dedede Daiou" because that's his English name?)

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 16:09, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

I'm quite aware that some of our translations for that stuff are clunky. Do as you wish. Yes, keep the official translations, like King Dedede. Also, regarding the cloak/cape thing, Meta Knight's down special is ディメンジョンマント, or Dimension Cloak in Japan; since that corresponds to Dimensional Cape, it makes sense to make "cloak" into "cape." Anyway, to somewhat complicate matters, I believe the physical menus do include official English names, too. But, we don't exactly have easy access to that stuff. Iqskirby (talk) 16:33, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 16:48, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

NOTE: I'll probably have to edit this more than once when I find the Japanese menu descriptions for the other items (especially the first one listed since it's flat-out grammatically incorrect)

Also, I know that at least one word on the current menu translation uses the British spelling. Since this wiki seems to be primarily American English (for example, it uses the American names for the games instead of the PAL ones [which, since PAL includes Europe, I believe that also applies to England?), should I just change it to the American spelling or leave it as it is since it's technically not wrong?

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 16:57, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

Just here to apologize! I haven't looked up the official English names :'3

Nago's Etymology

I'll link this here for the short answer:

Explanation (in case help understanding this is needed): lists one of the alternate ways the word "にゃー/Nyaa" (an onomatopoeic/mimetic word for "meow") is written as "にゃあご/Nyaago" which is... somewhat similar to Nago's name. Since Nago is a cat, do you think it's plausible that this should at least be mentioned in the etymology section for his name?MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 00:34, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

A non-administrator user has made pointless edits to it (and other pages). I think something needs to be checked.

The problems with the edits are that they're unnecessary [often just some wording changes that don't need to be made, some of which are WORSE than the original wording] and some of them have bad grammar. Also, you yourself have undone some of the edits too, and yet they continue to add their edits back and even put the same mistakes on other pages).

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 20:49, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

You have the ability to undo edits, therefore you're allowed to undo edits. Just like you, I've been undoing them because they are generally unnecessary and sometimes worse than the original. If they continue, they will be warned, and if they persist, they will be temporarily blocked. Iqskirby (talk) 21:26, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

You may want to protect the Fighter page (so that only sysops can edit it)

The same user keeps trying to make the same edit, even when it's been undone (and is unnecessary, on top of being grammatically incorrect).

Like, the user occasionally makes a good edit or two (like changing "few others" to "some others" on Whippy's page), but most of their edits aren't really needed, and some are even incorrect. Are they trying to pad out their edit count or something? Why?

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 17:02, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

User Juanezferpin0907 is making unnecessary edits again

Not only that, they make, like, five edits per page, and I don't know how to select multiple edits at the same time to undo them all at once (is it even possible?). I think they should probably be given a warning, at least. It's really just a lot of unnecessary wording changes and feels like them trying to pad out their edit count.

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 12:55, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

How do you rename pages?

I just corrected a romanization mistake for the character ピリカ, since the word ピリカ is usually romanized as "Pirka," not "Pirika" (for example: the song "Pirka Pirka"). I fixed this with the page's content, but I can't figure out how to edit the name because I'm stupid and can't find the option.

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 01:06, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Go to the "Edit" dropdown menu, and click "Move." Iqskirby (talk) 01:28, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Someone created a SECOND page on super abilities

Super Copy Abilities

can’t do much about it right now because I’m on my phone and FANDOM is a bit complicated to use on there (if the pages here had comments sections I’d be able to get it to work because trying to add a comment forces it to switch to how it is on computers... hope that made sense, I don’t know how to describe it). I’m at school (lunch) so I can’t just switch to my MacBook. Can you take care of the page?

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 16:49, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

You don't have to alert me about everything. Please. Iqskirby (talk) 18:38, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

I noticed you deleted some articles I created. So what can I do so that it won’t be? Greenkirbyssbm.jpgDarkGreenishKirby 12:54, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

I wouldn't be against Friend Ability or Dream Course pages, per se, but Remote Robot is kind of redundant; we consider it a part of the same Remote Controller item. However, I'd generally recommend asking before creating these pages, as if we're going to include an article for one Friend Ability/Dream Course page, we'd have to make all of the Friend Ability and Dream Course articles for consistency. Hope this helps! Paul2 Let's just get this out of the way: KIRBY SUCKS! The dorky isocahedron returns. 15:07, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Wiki representative

I'm the new Fandom wiki representative (formerly called wiki managers - there should be a blog post soon about the re-organization explaining more) on this wiki. Please let me know if you need anything. --Pcj (talk) 22:45, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Will do. Iqskirby (talk) 22:48, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Do you have any idea of what happened to one of my posts?

I was trying to look back to a post I made (I wanted to fetch the memes from there), but I kept getting errors whenever I tried to visit it through stuff like the links in my search history. The post doesn't show up when I try to scroll through to find it. I don't know what happened. Was it deleted for some reason? I never got any messages or anything, and I'm pretty sure it followed all the guidelines (the closest thing to breaking them was that, since I was using meme templates and all, there was some swearing I had to censor out. did I just not do a good job at it somehow? I've made a similar post before and it didn't get removed, though).

Is it there and fandom's somehow just glitching on solely it and none of the other discussion posts? Am I even supposed to get an error message when I go on a deleted post? What's going on?

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 21:23, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

Do you have any links to it, regardless of it they work? I haven't deleted anything, nor have I heard of any post deletion, so I wouldn't know. Iqskirby (talk) 21:31, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

I do.

MML!opinions!Fun!Chocolate! (talk) 21:35, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, it was deleted. Might've pushed it a bit too much. It was deleted by Paul2, so feel free to talk to him about it if you wish. Iqskirby (talk) 22:20, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

King Dedede

Why is King Dedede in the category "Allies in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!"? He has never been shown to be an ally of Kirby in the anime. Shadow Dedede (talk) 11:52, 23 February 2021 (UTC)

While I don't have a definitive answer to you, I'm inclined to believe that's there because of the occasions where Dedede actually does the right thing. Iqskirby (talk) 19:36, 23 February 2021 (UTC)

It still doesn't make him a true ally. He isn't like the Dedede in the games. Allies are someone who stays good. If they've been good only a few times but is mostly bad, that doesn't make them an ally. Shadow Dedede (talk) 17:39, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Well, it may be better to address this topic on that article's talk page. If anyone has any counterpoints, they should be allowed to state them, and see where the discussion goes from there. If nothing comes of it after a few days or so, feel free to make the change. Iqskirby (talk) 20:55, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Everything about this user violates the wiki's guidelines

Coding issues

Hello! I'm Mendes, and I represent Fandom's Vanguard volunteer team. We help communities adopt to new technologies and features and to improve their technical performance. We have spotted some code issues on this wiki that I’d like to make fixes to, which should not break anything further nor affect the wiki content.

If you have any questions, or this is the wrong venue for this kind of a discussion, please let me know. Thanks! რპიδპა2 MW/Talk x Contribs x Contact Me 14:49, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello! I am another admin on this Wikia. What sort of fixes are you looking at making particularly, just for the sake of clarity? Paul2 Let's just get this out of the way: KIRBY SUCKS! The dorky isocahedron returns. 14:36, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
Hello, thanks for responding. These edits will mainly be clearing out maintenance categories, such as Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls. At first glance, it looks like Template:Nomenclature was copied over with span-sp-name listed twice (both empty) instead of span-sp-mean. It is also possible that there are other pages with a similar issue. რპიδპა2 MW/Talk x Contribs x Contact Me 15:06, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Why do you block me?

i am itzuwanaru if you don't recognize me , i was just editing Wrestler moveset then you ban me saying i was abusing multiple accounts , what the heck with you? --unsigned comment by Niromichi (talkblogcontributionslogs) Always sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~ !

Well, while after the fact, you now are abusing multiple accounts. Furthermore, the block I established was only for a week long. It's been a week now, so it's not like you actually needed to do this; even still, while you couldn't edit articles, you could still edit your talk page, which is where this conversation could've been instead of here. Now, to actually answer your question: your edit to Wrestler was suspiciously similar to other edits to the page (by a user who abused multiple accounts to continue doing these same edits) that'd been reverted, so it was within reason for me to assume that maybe you were them. I did not have complete certainty, so I left the block as only a week, as I said earlier, instead of having it be infinite. Iqskirby (talk) 20:08, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Article text

What was the original article text for some of the Smash Bros. articles (by that, I mean the most complete version)? I'm asking in case some of it can be moved over to Smashpedia or Nintendo Wiki (or even if it doesn't have any unique content, it would still be fun to look at). For blue links listed below, the page history can be restored, but for red links, add the original text to This list includes:

*[[Pokemon Trainer]] and [[Pokémon Trainer]] (separate revision history) *[[Wolf O'Donnell]] *[[Pikachu]] *[[Bowser]] *[[Mario]] *[[Wario]] *[[Luigi]] *[[Falco Lombardi]] *[[Fox McCloud]] *[[Lucario]] *[[Ganondorf]] *[[Solid Snake]] *[[Sonic the Hedgehog]] *[[Diddy Kong]] *[[Donkey Kong]] *[[Princess Peach]] *[[Bowser]] *[[R.O.B.]] *[[Samus Aran]] *[[Link]]

I've been around on Fandom for a while, I just haven't edited here yet. I just want to help by reusing these on a more appropriate Fandom wiki. Under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 content license, I can attribute the reuse to here at Kirby Wiki. Thank you. :) Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 19:02, 4 September 2021 (UTC)

I'm not sure how much value these will have, especially since they were written back in this wiki's early days, in 2008. But, if you really want, I don't suppose it'd be a huge issue. Iqskirby (talk) 06:08, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
I worry that I might've posted a bit much above. Would recreating them as redirects to Super Smash Bros. series#Playable characters also work? Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 12:39, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
I can relay the information, that won't be a huge issue. I'm just not so sure this is worth your time, as this is rather basic content, and probably won't highly benefit these larger wikis like Smashpedia or the Nintendo Wiki. Iqskirby (talk) 22:54, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
I have found that on the Wayback Machine, the Samus Aran article has a bit of technical info. Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 22:17, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
It's a little technical, but nothing more complex than what the Smash wiki already has. Iqskirby (talk) 23:48, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

Okay, so I was thinking about this for 2 days. I've nowikied the list above & deciding to go by smaller chunks. Nintendo Wiki has less Smash coverage (which is expected), so perhaps if I ask about article content, I'll ask about adding to there rather than Smashpedia (just so they can still have distinct articles).

To start off, what was the text of Party Ball? (paste here). The article on Nintendo Wiki can be found here. Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 14:34, 8 September 2021 (UTC)

As no warning that the page had been previously deleted came up, I assume this page simply has not existed on this wiki. Even if it did, it probably would not be particularly noteworthy. If you want Smash Bros. stuff, go to the Smash Wiki. Iqskirby (talk) 22:41, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
Okay, I think i meant to link Golden Hammer or Galleom (Party Ball was an accident & kind of embarrassing), but i figured having a unique base would speed up writing to some of the short articles. thank you for helping regardless Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 23:03, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
You should really be looking at the Smash Wiki for information on this stuff, not the Kirby Wiki. As the deletion reasons for those pages were: "This is not a Super Smash Bros. Wiki" Iqskirby (talk) 02:20, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Adding "Star Allies" Movesets

Dear Iqskirby,

I was attempting to update several pages on the wiki by adding a graph to them that showcases their Movesets from "Kirby: Star Allies" as I believed this would benefit the public interested in such a matter. However, the graphs I added to said pages keep disappearing, and the records show that you're the most recent one to edit them. If you are deleting said graphs, I would like to know why. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the professionalism and organization that goes into this wiki, but I feel that adding such graphs is no way negatively affects anything. I feel I am entitled to an explanation for this. Although I do hope you understand I intended no disrespect for anyone here on the wiki. Please get back to me at your earliest possible convenience so we can sort this out.

The tables were removed because they were deemed redundant. With few exceptions, like Chef Kawasaki, Helpers have move sets that are 1-to-1 with the Copy Ability they represent. As such, people can simply visit those Copy Ability pages to get that information. Iqskirby (talk) 21:50, 19 September 2021 (UTC)

I see. Well thank you for your promptness and thorough explanation. I will keep that in mind going forward. And I do hope that there are no hard feelings after this occurrence. I will attempt to make my contributions to the wiki can be more meaningful in the future. Matthias Descartes (talk) 00:56, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Question about deletion?

Hi, I was wondering why the pages about Alien Planet and Underworld were deleted. What was the reason for them being deleted exactly? Just curious. --unsigned comment by Psychomagalor1 (talkblogcontributionslogs) Always sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~ !

Underworld was deemed unimportant; it was only referenced once, and doesn't appear in the Japanese original, where he was the ruler of darkness, and underworld was likely a translation error. Alien Planet is, as far as I'm concerned, not an official name, and only refers to a single stage in Kirby Mass Attack. Iqskirby (talk) 08:38, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

Ok, I was wondering because the Skull Tower was also given an individual page despite only being a single stage too. I guess that one was allowed because it had an official name and quote attachhed to it?
