Greetings! I'm Paul2. Bonjam!

About Me

Hey there. I'm Paul, a 20-year-old avid gamer/music listener/on-and-off artist.

As an admin, I mainly patrol the recent activity and do general cleanup work most of the time. I tend to become more active around game releases, as that's when we need the most help around here, but I try to maintain consistent activity and engage in projects and discussions with the community. I've been around here for a long time, so if you're new here and need assistance, feel free to ask me about anything.

You can find me on the Kirby Wiki Discord, which I founded. Just ask me for the link and I can give it to you! (I'm Therater2#6495.)

Games I Own/Game Reviews

Here, I'll list the Kirby games that I own. My opinions and ratings for these games will be included here as well.

Game Review Score
Kirby's Dream Land A dated, yet nostalgic and fun look at Kirby's roots. It's well worth playing, and while the main mode is lacking in difficulty (and is quite short in length, a fact that is the game's main detraction), the extra game can be pretty fun. 6 out of 10
Kirby's Adventure (through Dream Collection) The first great game in the series that stands the test of time. Love the atmosphere, design and bosses in this one, which give it an unmistakable feel of its own. 8 out of 10
Kirby's Dream Course (through Switch Online) Second best competitive multiplayer experience in the series. The controls are a bit wacky to get a hold of, but that just increases the opportunities for sabotage, and destroyed friendships. 8 out of 10
Kirby's Dream Land 2 A classic that is fun to pick up and have a quick run-through of sometimes, despite the difficulty of the collecting the Rainbow Drops... yet the Animal Friends mechanic still holds up. 7.5 out of 10
Kirby's Block Ball The breakout mechanics are fine here, but there's just not much reason to get this game over any other puzzle game; it's okay, I suppose. However, I find the soundtrack to be somewhat weaker overall than those of other Game Boy titles. 5 out of 10
Kirby Super Star (through Dream Collection) Knocked down a peg by the fact that I had thoroughly played Ultra long before picking this up, this still stands up on its own merits, and the best sub-games here are still awesome. 8.5 out of 10
Kirby's Star Stacker The Round Clear mode, most of the difficulty modes are pretty easy to beat with the exception of Insane. I spend less time on the Challenge and Time Attack modes, but both of them can also entertain you for a little while. 6.5 out of 10
Kirby's Dream Land 3 (through Dream Collection) Like others have said, the artstyle carries this one. Some of the tasks for each level bring the cryptic levels up a bit high for my tastes on replays. Definitely not a bad entry, though. 7 out of 10
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (through Dream Collection) Walking around in this dynamic, sort-of 3D space is (so far) unique to the series, so for that I have to give it props. The style isn't my personal favorite, but I have to acknowledge the coolness of a lot of the concepts and worlds here. One of the most compelling stories and finales of the 90's games as well. 8 out of 10
Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble A surprisingly fun gimmick. Sure, it could be frustrating occasionally, but once you get used to the weird gyroscope controls, it's not a bad time. 7 out of 10
Super Smash Bros. Melee Pretty much everything has been said about this one; awesome, fast-paced battling. 9 out of 10
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land An improved version of the already-great NES classic, this is a satisfying remake for the most part. Plus, Meta Knightmare (and some other pretty fun sub-games) added to boot. 8.5 out of 10
Kirby Air Ride One of the best, if not the best, racing games for the GameCube, and a personal favorite. While the Air Ride mode is also enjoyable, with its well-designed races, and Top Ride could be fun for a change-up, I find City Trial to be my favorite mode in the game; the mad dash of collecting Patches and sabotaging friends holds up so well, even today. I am in desperate need of a worthy successor to this game. 9.5 out of 10
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror This is my favorite Kirby game (Before KRtDL). The way the maze aspect is designed gives it a mystique to me that doesn't really go away despite replays, and takes the graphical style of KNiDL up a notch. The treasures are usually genuinely rewarding, and the aspect of playing with friends (as I've only recently come to fully experience) is quite fun. Finally, the Copy Ability lineup is one of the best in the series, with rare abilities and enemies abounding. Huge nostalgia anytime I come back to this. 10 out of 10
Kirby: Canvas Curse The art style/mood of this game is so great, as are the controls, honestly, which make good use of the DS screens. Medal Swap makes Medals one of my favorite collectibles in the whole series. The boss system is a bit strange, admittedly (only three bosses for 6 levels?). Fun sub-games too, especially Block Attack, which plays like a revamped KBB. 8.5 out of 10
Kirby: Squeak Squad I do remember having a lot of fun with this one when it was released- the Animal and Ghost abilities, the Copy Palette gimmick, and the Squeaks are all cool notches this game has made in the series. Despite these nice additions, the level designs were often less than memorable and often short. The Squeak races were also far too frequent, interrupting the flow of the game. Overall, the game felt like somewhat of a rushed effort. 7 out of 10
Kirby Super Star Ultra A great place to start being a true Kirby fan. The greatest sub-games in this expansive set, including Milky Way Wishes, The Great Cave Offensive, Revenge of the King and Revenge of Meta Knight, rank as some of my favorite moments in the entire series. I spent many hours going through these different modes again and again, and trying to 100% complete it. 10 out of 10
Super Smash Bros. Brawl It's been quite a while since I've played Brawl, so I'm not sure I can comment on it well, but I remember having a good time casually doing battles with my sisters for a few years. ?
Kirby's Epic Yarn Not on the level of some of the other spinoffs, but the unique mechanics and motifs allow for some interesting stage design. A tad overhyped, but still a pretty relaxing time, especially with a friend. 7.5 out of 10
Kirby Mass Attack A very strong spinoff. The main story, world and mechanics are really fun, for sure, but the side content really shines to an unusual degree. All the optional stuff - talking to Daroach, collecting and using Medals, and the unusually deep sub-games - brings this one to a new level. 8.5 out of 10
Kirby's Return to Dream Land In my opinion, the pinnacle of Kirby. In almost every way, a perfect game... though I suppose I should elaborate a bit. The co-op is super tight, the story is one of my favorites, the Copy Abilities are a slam dunk, the side content is surprisingly compelling, and the feeling of unlocking three extra levels on a new, mysterious planet? Sign me up. 10 out of 10
Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition A great collection that allowed me to play a bunch of the older games when I wasn't really into emulation. Also got a lot of fun reading the booklet (and especially that wonderful soundtrack CD). 9 out of 10
Kirby: Triple Deluxe In essence, a downgraded KRtDL, but its problems go a bit deeper than that. Hypernova was never as compelling as Super Abilities to me, and Sectonia remains the least interesting villain of modern Kirby. The overreliance on 3D also felt a little tacked on. Still, though... even a downgraded KRtDL still has quality mechanics and feel. 7 out of 10
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS I've spent so much time in online in this Smash game, giving my skills in the game new life. Still, not much of a reason to play this anymore, aside from perhaps Smash Run. 7.5 out of 10
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Same as previous, only with improved graphics... and no Smash Run. 7.5 out of 10
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse TBA 7 out of 10
Kirby: Planet Robobot TBA 9.5 out of 10
Team Kirby Clash Deluxe TBA 7 out of 10
Kirby's Blowout Blast TBA 7.5 out of 10
Kirby Battle Royale Pretty weak attempt at a multiplayer game. Slow multiplayer online and a very light story mode didn't help matters... 3 out of 10
Kirby Star Allies TBA 7 out of 10
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate TBA 9 out of 10
Super Kirby Clash TBA 6 out of 10
Kirby Fighters 2 TBA 6 out of 10
