You reached Buddy Fighters Tower's Summit, but look out! Twin Woods is blocking your way! Watch out for the giant apple the pair produces. If you get careless, it'll squash you flat!
— Chapter 1 - Twin Woods • Kirby Fighters 2

Twin Woods is a boss in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Super Star.

Physical Appearance[]

Twin Woods appears identical to Whispy Woods, albeit Twin Woods is composed of two individuals. The twins face each other, and their canopies overlap, giving it the illusion of being one giant canopy.

Games[]

Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra[]

Twin Woods first appears in the Revenge of Meta Knight game, being fought in Chapter 2 immediately after Kirby defeats Whispy Woods. Many attacks from Twin Woods are borrowed from Whispy Woods' attacks, although they have some unique attacks, such as being able to drop Capillers, Gordos, and exchange pieces of their trunks with each other.

Later, in Milky Way Wishes, Twin Woods appears as the boss of Floria. In Kirby Super Star Ultra, this Twin Woods appears as an autumn season variant.

Twin Woods is also fought in The Arena (using its Milky Way Wishes arena in Kirby Super Star and a unique coloration in Kirby Super Star Ultra) and, in Kirby Super Star Ultra, in Helper to Hero (using its Milky Way Wishes coloration).

Kirby Fighters 2[]

Twin Woods drops giant apples.

Twin Woods appears as a boss in Kirby Fighters 2, with the boss title of Giant Tree Twins. The twins are only fought in the game's story mode, The Destined Rivals. This time, Twin Woods are two separate entities, so they lack some attacks from the original game. However, they received attacks from Whispy Woods (mainly derived from Team Kirby Clash Deluxe). The two can also enlarge one or two apples and drop them, causing rather massive damage, as well as dropping Burst Fruits like in Kirby Star Allies, but they cannot be purified. In their third phase, Whispy's apples gain helicopter leaves, and spin towards the other tree, and his puffs gain the ability to split and launch projectiles up and down, like Flowery Woods DX in Kirby: Triple Deluxe and later Whispy Woods fights in Kirby: Planet Robobot, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, and Super Kirby Clash. They can also jump and try to land on Kirby and his buddy, jumping away for a few seconds and dealing an immense amount of damage. Their Air Gun projectiles home in on Kirby or his buddy.

Trivia[]

  • On Floria, despite being accessible in either autumn or winter, Twin Woods maintain their normal appearance in Kirby Super Star or use an autumn-based one in Kirby Super Star Ultra.
  • In Kirby Star Allies, there exists a boss with a similar concept, Twin Kracko, the second phase of the original Kracko.
  • The leaves of Twin Woods in Kirby Fighters 2 are not connected, much like their sprite in Kirby Super Star Ultra.
  • Twin Woods is the only boss in Kirby Fighters 2 to be a chapter Final Boss that is not King Dedede & Meta Knight (thus they have their own splash screen).
