“ | Whoa! Tortuilding's shell is a whole building! This big baddie must be some kind of boss for the smaller beasts. It enjoys basking in the sun, so it climbs to high spots and claims the whole area as its territory. (It must take a long time for this critter to get up there...)” |
— Gotcha Capsule Description • Kirby and the Forgotten Land |
Tortuilding is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Physical Appearance[]
Tortuilding is a giant tortoise with light brown skin, a serrated mouth, and a tan underside. It has silver spikes all over its body, as well as jagged, brown scales along its neck and the back of its head. It has white eyes with black pupils, and three silver horns along its head. Its "shell" is actually a white, worn-down building decorated with cracks, shattered windows, and moss near the top.
Games[]
Kirby and the Forgotten Land[]
Tortuilding appears in Kirby and the Forgotten Land as a member of the Beast Pack. Within the building that it resides in is a golden cage containing three Waddle Dees that it guards. Kirby requires the Cone Mouth to defeat it, seemingly by jabbing it in its back.
Etymology[]
Tortuilding is a portmanteau of "tortoise", referencing its species, and "building", referencing the building it wears as a makeshift shell.
