Tootlebam[1] is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Star Allies. It yields the Festival Copy Ability when inhaled.
Physical Appearance[]
Tootlebam resembles a small, circular bird with orange feet and a red bow tie. It has two small, white wings on either side of its body. Wide red and blue stripes surround its body, separated by golden stripes. These stripes leave a star shaped hole on the front of its body to leave room for its face. It has gradient blue purple eyes, and a horn for its combined nose and mouth.

Kirby Star Allies and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[]
Tootlebam is first found in Donut Dome and appears in later stages. It hovers in the air, occasionally blasting dust and confetti out of its horn as an attack. Many enemies often appear around it so Kirby can effectively use the Festival ability without leaving the area. Due to their ability's purpose being to buff the player, Tootlebams are somewhat rare. When a Friend Heart is thrown at it, it transforms into the Festival ability, which can also be gained by inhaling the Tootlebam.
Tootlebam reappears in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, once again granting the Festival ability. It first appears in Cookie Country - Stage 3. Friend Hearts can no longer be thrown at them.
Trivia[]
- Tootlebam is one of the six enemies in Kirby Star Allies that grants an ability, but cannot be captured with a Friend Heart; the other five being Noddy, Walky, Bomber, Shield Guard, and Floaty the Cell Core.
Etymology[]
Tootlebam's name is a compound of "tootle", which refers to tooting repeatedly, of which "toot" is an onomatopoeia for the sound from a horn; and "bam", an onomatopoeia used when one object strikes another, such as with a drum.
Its Japanese name also comes from the onomatopoeia for objects striking (such as a drum), どん/ドン (don) or どんどん/ドンドン (dondon); and the onomatopoeia for a horn sound, パフ (pafu).
