Togekuki is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It yields the Needle ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance

Togekuki is a small orange sphere with a single eye. Three pink spikes protrude from its top and a cactus-like vine grows from its bottom.

The enemy doesn't attack and merely serves as an obstacle to hinder Kirby's progress. Togekuki is one of the more durable enemies in the game, as its head can only be defeated once its vine is destroyed -- this can take several hits, unless Kirby star spits. As a simple head, Togekuki can be inhaled or defeated with any other attack.

Etymology

Togekuki's name translates from Japanese as "stem thorns."
