“ | The young Thornsbys think they're hot stuff, but the middle-aged Thornsbys definitely have more wisdom. And the old Thornsbys don't really care what you think about them.” |
— Figurine description • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse |
Thornsby is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.
Physical Appearance[]
Thornsbys come in two colors: burgundy and yellow. A burgundy Thornsby is a cylinder with brown rings around its top and bottom. It has constantly closed, angry eyes and a black impression resembling a moustache. It has a spike growing out of its top, bottom, left, and right sides.
A yellow Thornsby is a slightly rounder cylinder with orange rings around its top and bottom. It has constantly closed, passive eyes, a tiny mouth, and a black impression resembling a moustache. It has handle-like arms on its left and right sides.
Games[]
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse[]
Thornsbys appear exclusively in the stage Volcanic Panic. They are found in stacks that often block entire passageways. If Kirby attempts to attack a burgundy Thornsby, the hero will take damage. If he attacks a yellow Thornsby, however, every enemy in the stack is destroyed.
Etymology[]
Thornsby's name is derived from the word "thorn," referencing its spiky body.
Trivia[]
- Thornsby is similar Stactus, an enemy in Kirby Mass Attack. Both are spiky enemies that stack upward, and both enemy stacks have one weak spot that is denoted by color.
