“ | It's the local four-Dee band, the Deedly Dees! They love to jam in front of a crowd and start each request off with a "Wa-WA!" (Let's GO!) Band meetings at the café can get heated due to their different musical tastes, but when the tunes kick in, they fall perfectly in sync.” |
— Gotcha Capsule Description • Kirby and the Forgotten Land |
The Deedly Dees is a band formed by four Waddle Dees: a keyboardist, a drummer, a guitarist, and a bass guitarist, first appearing in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. They serve as the Jukebox of the game, performing requested music in Waddle Dee Town.
Games[]
Kirby and the Forgotten Land[]
Interacting with a chalkboard to the left of the stage will allow Kirby to request a song for The Deedly Dees to play. After the player selects a song, Kirby and Elfilin will stand in an open spot among the small Waddle Dee crowd and begin to move to the beat of the song. If the player chooses to leave during a song, then the song will continue playing and loop, replacing the original Waddle Dee Town theme until Kirby enters a building. If a song doesn't have a loop and Kirby is elsewhere in the town, the Waddle Dee Town music will resume playing after a few seconds of silence.
Playing "Welcome to the New World!" (short and long versions) will have the New World alphabet appear at the bottom of the screen with the translated lyrics appear just above it. These lyrics will not appear if the player decides to walk away.
The band first appears on a wooden stage to the left of the Waddle Dee Cinemas in Waddle Dee Town, being called the "Waddle Live! Corner Stage," after Kirby finishes Lab Discovera, it can be upgraded twice to more grander stages if Kirby donates a few thousand Star Coins into a guitar case on the right of the stage.

Trivia[]
- The Deedly Dees are immune to any of Kirby's attacks, but will still play the sound effect for a regular Waddle Dee getting hit by one. They will, however, still close their eyes if Kirby tries to inhale them.
- When The Deedly Dees play a song, colored musical notes will fly around the band. Each song has its own preset colored notes, with the colors corresponding to the music's composer.
- Kirby, Elfilin, and the crowd of Waddle Dees will sometimes change their swaying speed to match with the speed of the song currently being played. For example, at the start of "Plundering Beast Battle," everyone in the crowd will sway faster than as they do for the rest of the song.
- The Deedly Dees will not start playing songs that start off with ambience until the ambience is over or the actual instruments kick in.
- In other songs that open with one of the instruments that band physically has (a keyboard, the drums, a guitar, and a bass guitar), only that Waddle Dee will start to play until the other instruments eventually join in. A couple examples would be at the start of "Fast-Flowing Waterworks" and "Pitch-Black Horror", where only the drummer Waddle Dee and the keyboardist Waddle Dee would begin playing, respectively.
- There a few songs that will make a band member stop playing their instrument until it is heard again in the song, such as in "Northeast Frost Street" where the guitarist Waddle Dee will stop playing mid-song until the guitar is needed.
