My sources tell me that this island was once the place of an incredible battle. Left behind from those days is some sort of tank. Hopefully you can make use of it.

The tank is a vehicle in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Mass Attack.

Physical Appearance[]

The tank is an all-terrain vehicle sporting four black tires and a pink paint job. Its body is a round central unit perched atop a rectangular platform. The tank has a stubby cannon on the front, an access hatch on the top, and a black screen on either side. This screen displays the number of Kirbys inside the cabin.

Games[]

Kirby Mass Attack[]

The tank only appears in Stage 2 of Volcano Valley. When the Kirbys board it, it begins driving forward automatically. The player can aim the cannon by dragging the stylus across the touch screen and fire a Kirby by removing the stylus. Because the Kirbys serve as ammunition, it is important to have several of them.

The tank has four hit points, which can be replenished individually by collecting Tank Capsules. The tank takes damage whenever an enemy or a solid object comes in contact with it. If it runs out of health, it explodes, KOing all the Kirbys.

When the tank stops rolling, it allows the Kirbys to dismount before it depressurizes and shuts down.

Related Quotes[]

When blasting through the tank stage, make sure you have enough Kirbys on hand. The more Kirbys you have, the more ammunition you get. You'll need to go in guns blazing to get a certain medal.

As you ride through the tank stage, you'll keep rolling forward. You'll see a switch. The question is, should you activate it or not? If you ignore that switch, you might just come upon a medal you wouldn't find. Hopefully you'll have enough Kirbys when you get here.
— Daroach • Kirby Mass Attack
While riding the tank, you'll see a switch that determines which of two paths you rumble down. If you activate that switch, you'll travel down a path where you'll see an enemy carrying a medal. He'll try to escape, so defeat him quickly, or else he'll get away with that medal!
— Daroach • Kirby Mass Attack
Somewhere in the tank stage is a strange contraption that rotates. There's a medal inside of it. You'll have to fire at all of its buttons to get that golden prize. If you don't have enough Kirbys, however, that might be difficult.
— Daroach • Kirby Mass Attack
If you ride the tank downhill, you'll build up speed. Don't get too carried away, however. You'll rumble right past a medal at the bottom of a hill. You'll have to act quickly if you want to get it!

Trivia[]

  • Canonically, Daroach states that only one tank remains from the old battle in Volcano Valley, referring to it singularly. In-game, however, there are two identical tanks. The player only encounters the second one after passing the Shortcut Door on a lower path.
  • Notes from the ESRB that explain Kirby Mass Attack’s E rating explicitly mention the tank, saying: "Some levels allow players to shoot oversized missiles from a tank..."[1]
