Sub-Tree Area is a subterranean jungle located beneath Dream Land. It is the first area traversed in The Great Cave Offensive and precedes Crystal Area. Sub-Tree Area marks the first appearance of Fatty Whale.
Despite being a jungle, Sub-Tree Area has just a few jungle-themed enemies.
Treasures[]
- Gold Medal: first room, the Treasure Chest is out in the open. Price: 10,000G.
- Gold Coin: first room, destroy statue head between the Lovelys to reveal a door. Enter the door and swim against the current to reach the Treasure Chest. Price: 1,000G.
- Whip: first room, destroy the first and third Bomb Blocks on the ground, skipping the second. Destroy the Bomb Block underneath to get the Treasure Chest. Price: 6,800G.
- Crystal Ball: second room, descend the ladder and go to the left; activate the Switches to open the Shutters to progress, but do so quickly before they close. In the area with two Switches, activate the one on the left first; in order to activate both Switches and get through both Shutters in time, a projectile attack (such as Air Gun), long range attack (such as Beam's Beam Whip), or a Helper (as Player 2) is required; this is most easily done with Wing's Feather Gun (Kirby Super Star) or Bomber Head (Kirby Super Star Ultra). Price: 200,000G.
- Lucky Cat: second room, go to the right of the ladder, into the water. Destroy the Star Blocks above and continue upward to the Treasure Chest; in order to destroy the Star Blocks, an upward attack (such as headbutt) is required. Price: 500G.
- Seiryu Sword: third room, don't step on the Crumble Block beneath the Treasure Chest; continue up, and then go left and destroy the statue head, causing the Treasure Chest to drop onto the Crumble Block. Backtrack to the Treaure Chest. Price: 142,000G.
- Screw Ball/Screw Attack: third room, go to the right, then down and fall through the platform and destroy the Bomb Block in the floor; in order to destroy the Bomb Block, a downward attack (from a Copy Ability or Helper) is required. Continue to the right to reach the Treasure Chest. Price: 80,000G.
- Echigo Candy: third room, destroy the statue head on the ceiling, then destroy the Breakable Blocks to the right. The Treasure Chest is hidden in the Breakable Blocks above the door to the Save Point. Price: 8,000G.
- Zebra Mask/Phanto Mask: third room, continue to the right of the Save Point, destroy the Star Blocks in the floor (requires a downward attack, such as from Beam), then destroy the statue head to open up an underwater passage. Backtrack to the left to the platform under the Save Point; enter the water and swim to the right. Destroy the statue head to gain access to the Treasure Chest. Price: 278,000G.
- Star Stone: fourth room, climb up the first ladder, then go to the left and climb up another ladder. Enter the Cannon and fire upward to reach the Treasure Chest; while the Cannon is not required, as any upward attack that can hit all three Breakable Blocks will work, it is the easiest and intended method. Price: 82,100G.
- Beast's Fang: fourth room, go to the right of the top of the first ladder and climb up another ladder. Go to the right and climb down to the bottom of the next ladder. Destroy the Star Block, let the Gordos pass, and then enter the alcove with the Treasure Chest. Price: 7,300G.
- Bandana: fifth room, destroy all three Bomb Blocks, causing the Treasure Chest to fall onto the ground below. Price: 1,990G.
- Springtime/Seasons Heart: fifth room, obtain Cutter from Sir Kibble at the end of the fourth room (Kirby Super Star) or at the beginning of the room (international versions of Kirby Super Star Ultra). Cut the Rope near the end of the room, fall down with the step, and continue to the right to reach the Treasure Chest; alternatively, the player can obtain Sword from the Copy Essence in the next room and backtrack to the Rope to cut it. Price: 250,000G.
