The Stone-Cutter combo will transform Kirby into a random rock critter. Some have specials abilities you can activate with A.
— Description • Nintendo Power (Volume #134)

Stone + Cutter (also called Animal Statues[1] or Rock Helpers[2]) is a Power Combo used in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards made by a combination of the Stone and Cutter Copy Abilities. In a small gesture to Animal Friends in Kirby's Dream Land 3, Kirby can turn himself into a chunk of rock, and then randomly carve himself into the image of one of either Rick, Coo, Kine, Nago, ChuChu or Pitch, each having its own strengths and weaknesses. Stone + Cutter, specifically Rick, is needed in Stage 3 of Aqua Star in order to get a Crystal Shard.

Moveset

Move Controls Description
Rick* A (Near wall) Stone Rick will slowly climb up walls. Useful to get to high areas where not even Kirby's float ability can get to.
Coo* A Stone Coo flaps his wings, being able to fly longer than Kirby but can not go as high up. It's helpful to dodge powerful floor attacks.
Kine* None Stone Kine can only look side to side being unable to move at all, even under water. This is a reference to the fact that in Kirby's Dream Land 2, when Kine has the stone ability, he is just the same as regular stone. It does not have any practical use.
Pitch* A Stone Pitch can fly higher than Kirby normally can float but falls faster. He also rolls down hills, running over enemies in the way.
ChuChu* A Stone ChuChu can jump higher than Kirby normally can but has only one jump.
Nago* A Stone Nago can triple jump, but he does not go very high.

*All are similar to Stone: Kirby is invincible while transformed, and enemies are damaged when they come into contact with him.

— Description • Official Strategy guide
Kirby quickly sculpts a stone statue of one of his six different friends. Each statue has it's [sic] own unique power. For example, the mouse can double jump better than Kirby can, and the owl can fly. Press B while Kirby's in the sculpture form to explode the sculpture's exterior, destroying nearby enemies. Kirby is invulnerable while he's inside the sculpture.
