This ghost gives off a nice glow. Wrap him up and use him as a lantern!
— Cast Description • Kirby's Epic Yarn

Stogue is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Physical Appearance[]

Stogue is a white ghost-like creature with a long tail, a yellow and purple button eye, and has an open mouth. He looks somewhat similar to Booler from Kirby's Dream Land.

Games[]

Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn[]

Stogue appears exclusively in Dark Manor. Stogue does not attack in the usual sense. He follows Kirby and/or Prince Fluff if they get too close, and cause them to lose beads upon contact. When not following the player, Stogue moves around in set patterns. He is able to move through walls (but yarn balls made from him cannot), and is made of glow-in-the-dark yarn, lighting up the surrounding area. Yarn balls made from Stogue can be carried or thrown to light up areas around it. Stogue glows forever, but the yarn ball starts to dim after a short while, even when the yarn ball is put on the ground and not carried around.

Etymology[]

Stogue's name is a phonetic anagram of "ghost," referencing its appearance.

Its Japanese name, バケオ (Bakeo), is an anagram of a word for ghost in Japanese, おばけ/御化け (obake).

Trivia[]

  • Stogue serves a similar purpose to Cool Spook, as they are both ghost-like creatures and glow brightly enough to light up dark areas.
