Star Spit (sometimes called Star Bullets) is an ability that has appeared in almost every Kirby game. To star spit, Kirby must inhale an enemy, then press the attack button to spit them out as a star-like projectile, sometimes called a star bullet. Almost every boss and mid-boss creates something that can be inhaled and spat out, usually a star. Sometimes even stars from bosses give Kirby a copy ability, most notably Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright. If Kirby inhales two enemies, it becomes more powerful. In Kirby: Squeak Squad, if Kirby inhales three or more enemies, it becomes even more powerful. If Kirby inhales enough enemies in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, the star he spits becomes twice as large as him.

Artwork of the Star Spit in Kirby: Squeak Squad.

Trivia

  • In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, this ability is functionally the same, but whatever Kirby spits out is in the same state as when he inhaled it. (However, if Kirby swallows two or more enemies, it becomes a star.)
    • Despite this, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards artwork depicts Kirby spitting a star.
