Stage 1 is the first floating island of Blockworld and serves as the first level in Kirby's Block Ball. It is a grassland that resembles a giant flower with eight petals. The stage is succeeded by Stage 2.
The stage opens with the following animation: The ball hits a Switch Block, which starts a Bonus Chance and converts a group of blocks into Through Blocks. Kirby is excited, so he turns back into the ball and clears all the blocks in a few passes. He then rolls back and forth out of joy.
Stage 1 has a border line of 120,000.
Areas[]
Block Area 1[]
The player can control two paddles, at the top and bottom of the screen. The area is filled with 40 rectangular white blocks, with a Score Block toward the center. A Waddle Dee and a Bronto Burt patrol the top portion.
Hidden objects: Two Score Blocks are hidden in the square holes to either side of the center Score Block.
Block Area 2[]
The player can control two paddles, at the top and bottom of the screen. The area is filled with 12 white rectangular blocks and 22 rectangular gray blocks. A Bronto Burt patrols either wall.
Hidden objects: A Warp Star is hidden in the center of the area.
Block Area 3[]
The player can control two paddles, at the top and bottom of the screen. The area is filled with 22 square white blocks, an Ability Block, four Indestructible Blocks, a Score Block, and a Switch Block. The Switch Block converts most of the blocks into Through Blocks, which grant Kirby a bonus if he clears them all under the time limit. A Broom Hatter stands on the left side of the area.
Target Shooting Area[]
The player can control a paddle at the bottom of the screen. The area is filled with 18 Star Blocks and two Power Blocks. Cappy patrols the top portion of the area; hitting him four times causes him to flee and a Warp Star to descend from the ceiling. Touching it takes Kirby to the boss.
Boss Area[]
Main article: Cappy |
Cappy serves as the boss of the stage. He jumps over to the left and right walls to attack the paddles. When half of his health is depleted, he summons smaller Cappies. The spikes on the walls and floor are covered by whatever Star Blocks the player collected in the Target Shooting Area.
Trivia[]
- The music that plays in Stage 1 is largely a calmer remix of the traditional Invincible Candy theme.
