Splinters are spiked logs that roll at Kirby when they're released from ledges or other heights. Avoid them at all costs—they can do severe damage to Kirby if they roll over him. In addition, don't touch them once they've stopped rolling. The spikes can still hurt you.

While more of a hazard than an enemy, Splinter is an intimidating foe nonetheless. It is found in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It is a spiked log that will roll off an incline in an attempt to crash into Kirby. If this does hit Kirby, it will bump the hero back a bit, and hit him again. Splinter is only found on Aqua Star.

Etymology[]

Splinter's name is based on "splinter," an injury resulting from touching sharp wood.

Its Japanese name, トゲマル (Togemaru), is a combination of トゲ/とげ/棘/刺 (toge), the Japanese word for thorn, splinter, or spine; and まる (maru) the Japanese word for circle.
