Silver Submarine is the ninth stage in Kirby: Canvas Curse. It is Iello Adventure's third stage, coming after Contrast Cave and before Machine Mansion.

General Information

Silver Submarine is a cavern that was created when Drawcia turned Dream Land into a world of paint. As the name suggests, this cave is mostly underwater. One part consists of Kirby dashing away from boulders, then being swept away by the current while he dodges multiple Saws that try to chop him from all directions.

This stage is arguably one of the most annoying stages in the game. It has more switches than most levels of its tier, such as Contrast Cave and Dreamy Darkness, and has many spiked obstacles, as there are spiked walls and saws everywhere. Although it is linear most of the time, at the end, many switches need to be pressed to lower tons of barriers that don't even coincide with the doors themselves. Its music is a remix of Kine's theme from Kirby's Dream Land 2.

It is comparable to Silent Seabed.

Kine is one of Kirby's Animal Friends. He is the specialist when moving in water. He and Chuchu share the same musical theme in Kirby's Dream Land 3, but it is different to the one Kine debuted with in Kirby's Dream Land 2.

The new theme is among the more prominent of the unused tracks in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, available in the Sound Test as track No. 2, but not used in-game. Kine's original theme, however, is remixed and re-used for Silver Submarine in Kirby: Canvas Curse. Another remix of Kine's original theme is used for Stage 1 of Onion Ocean in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.

When played with the Old School music option on, Silver Submarine's theme changes to Orange Ocean's theme from Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land.

  • The name Silver Submarine may be a reference to the song "Yellow Submarine" by The Beatles.
  • While looking at the map the final door seems to be stationary. In reality, it floats around in the water current, making the map unreliable. This problem is brought back much later in Mad Mechanism.
