Shooty is an enemy that appears in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. They give no ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance

Shootys are rocket-shaped creatures with a juvenile appearance. They consist of a blimp-like body, two airplane wing-like arms, two feet hanging down from their underside, and an airplane-like tail. They are blue and red in color; red on their forehead, extending along the center of their back, on their arms, and on their feet, while they are blue everywhere else. Shootys have a frowning mouth and two slanted, black eyes with white pupils.

Games

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Shootys often appear in groups. They fly back and forth in a set pattern, gradually moving up and down. When a Shooty is directly facing Kirby, it will fire two lasers in quick succession that travel straight ahead. If Kirby is directly under a Shooty, the Shooty may drop an explosive rocket, attempting to hit him. Otherwise, they may damage Kirby by simply ramming into him.

Underwater, Shootys behave and move exactly as if they were in air. As a result, they are harder to evade in water, as Kirby is slower than he is on land.

Etymology

Shooty's name comes from the word shoot, referencing its tendency to shoot lasers and rockets at Kirby.

Trivia

  • Shootys are always seen around areas that Bombar patrols. The exception to this is in Olive Ocean, where they appear despite there being no Bombar in the level.
  • Although Bombar is primarily green and orange, Shootys are red and blue. Perhaps coincidentally, these are complementary colors of each other.
  • Despite the fact that Shootys are missile-like enemies, they do not give the Missile ability when inhaled.
  • Shooty bears a resemblance to Soarar, both in appearance and attack pattern.
