Searches is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It yields the Crash ability when inhaled.
Physical Appearance[]
Searches is a dark gray metallic sphere with four red bumps protruding from its sides. Its center is yellow and slightly recessed. Positioned on the center is a pair of angry brown eyes that are slightly concealed by its metal hull.
In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, its center is slightly less recessed, and thus its eyes are more visible.
Games[]
Kirby's Return to Dream Land and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[]
Searches will float in midair, blinking occasionally. If Kirby approaches the enemy, it will emit a beeping noise, and its body and eyes will turn red. Seconds later, it will violently self-destruct, destroying anything caught in the explosion.
Searches appears in the Whip and Bomb Challenges as well.
Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition[]
Searches appears in the New Challenge Stages mode, specifically in the Wing Challenge. The behavior of the enemy has not changed since Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[]
Searches acts exactly as it does in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
Etymology[]
Searches' name is derived from the word "search," referring to the enemy's habit of constantly checking if Kirby is nearby.
Trivia[]
- Searches' appearance and behavior are extremely similar to those of Blasto* from Kirby's Block Ball. They both share a spherical body, four spherical bumps protruding from their bodies, and glaring eyes. Blasto can leave behind Crash items that cause vast explosions, and Searches can also create sizable blasts.
- Searches bears a resemblance to Flamer and Elec.
