Samus in Kirby's Dream Land 3

Samus Statue

Samus Aran is the main character from the Metroid series. She was raised by the Chozo, an ancient race of bird-like people, and goes through dangerous missions throughout the galaxies, such as saving planets and bounty-hunting. She appears in Kirby's Dream Land 3 as a cameo, and is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Series along side Kirby.

Kirby's Dream Land 3

In Kirby's Dream Land 3, Samus Aran wants Kirby to exterminate a horde of Metroids in exchange for a Heart Star. The Metroids are hard to kill, as you need Ice Kirby, for Ice is their only weakness, a reference to how they're killed in the Metroid games.

Super Smash Bros. Series

In the Super Smash Bros. series, Samus is a starting playable character in all 3 games. She hails from the Metroid series as the first and only playable character of it (not counting Zero Suit Samus, as she is just Samus without her powersuit and its moveset). She has projectile attacks such as her Charge Shot and Missiles that cover a wide range of space.

Snake: "Hey, Otacon. I got a woman here in a Power Suit..."

Otacon: "Huh? How'd you know she was a woman? Yeah, that'd be Samus Aran, the most renowned bounty hunter in the galaxy. Her Arm Cannon packs quite a wallop. If you get hit with a charged shot from that thing, you can kiss your butt good-bye."

Snake: "Sounds like my kind of woman..."

Otacon: "Yeah, well, just don't get too close, Snake. Samus is deadly. After Space Pirates killed her parents, she was raised by the Chozo and trained in the fighting arts. She's been places and seen things that people like you and me can't even begin to imagine."

Snake: "But underneath that cold, metal exterior beats the heart of a woman..."

Trivia

• The entire level of having to defeat all the Metroids was a reference to Metroid II, where Samus' mission is to destroy all the last Metroids on SR388. She awards you with her helmet off because since you've exterminated all the Metroids in the area, your mission is complete. In the Metroid games, when you get all the items fast enough, you get rewarded at the end by seeing Samus without her helmet or even her whole suit. This is basically the same concept.
• In Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra, a statue of Samus can appear while using the Stone ability.
• A treasure in The Great Cave Offensive, the Screw Attack, is an item Samus equips in the Metroid games to be able to spin rapidly in the air, reaching many places and destroying enemies upon contact.
