Point of Arrival is the introductory area in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is available from the start, and its completion leads to Waddle Dee Town and Natural Plains.

General Information[]

After the first cutscene of Kirby being transported into the new world, he awakens on a beach. After observing his surroundings, he ventures into a dense forest, with several rock formations and holes scattered throughout the area. The area starts from the left to the right side and serves as a tutorial level, explaining to the player how to jump, inhale, and Star Spit enemies while collecting Star Coins. Kirby can also obtain the first Copy Ability in the game by inhaling a Blade Knight, giving him the Sword ability.

The stage then teaches the player how to hover onto the platforms until Kirby reaches a ladder. Kirby will then encounter a Poppy Bros. Jr. where he can obtain the Bomb ability and use bombs to eliminate enemies along an elevated walkway. The walkway introduces a stage hazard, where Kirby can lose health if he falls off the walkway.

Reaching the end of the walkway will lead Kirby to an abandoned building once belonging to the Holine Corp. Upon entering the building, a cutscene plays that introduces Kirby's first Mouthful Mode transformation: Car Mouth, giving Kirby fast movement and enough strength to quickly eliminate enemies. After toppling a bridge, a radio plays the main theme of the game, "Welcome to the New World!", and the title logo appears as Kirby drives along the overgrown city and finally crossing a long bridge into the next area.

When Kirby reaches a destroyed village, Elfilin and several Waddle Dees are captured by the Beast Pack. Defeating a group of Awoofies allows Kirby to rescue Elfilin. The two then embark on a journey throughout the new world to save the captured Waddle Dees.

Kirby can return to Point of Arrival any time by taking a Warp Star located in the southernmost part of Waddle Dee Town. However, the stage ends prematurely when it is replayed, ending after crossing the long bridge.

Trivia[]

  • Within the dense forest, birds can be heard chirping "Running through the New World", one of the main themes of Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
  • If Kirby chooses to return to the forest area after obtaining the Sword ability, a blue Star Coin can be found after cutting the grass.
