Para Matter (sometimes shortened to just Para) is an extremely rare enemy that appears in Kirby: Canvas Curse. It only shows up in the battle against Drawcia Soul. Drawcia Soul produces Para Matter out of her body. Para Matter has one eye and comes in one of the three primary colors: Red, yellow, and blue. They each attack in a different way; the yellow one shoots an energy beam out of its eye in a circle. The red ones will catch on fire and chase Kirby around the stage, eventually exploding. Blue ones will fly off the screen, come all the way down and dive off the screen in attempt to freeze Kirby. To defeat Para Matter, the player has to tap its eye when it opens the four flaps that cover it—which will launch the creature into the background and hurt Drawcia Soul in the process. If not, the Para Matter will attack Kirby.

Para Matter also appears in Kirby: Triple Deluxe as a collectible keychain.

Para Matter's name is most likely derived from the Greek root para, meaning "close to the original form." This explains its paint-like appearance, as well as its single eye, in relation to Drawcia Soul. Its name may also be an allusion to Dark Matter.

  • When Para Matter is balled up, it bears a slight resemblance to Orbservor.
