Nintendo Switch Online (also shortened to NSO) is an online subscription service for the Nintendo Switch family that allows users access to a variety of features. Users can buy a regular subscription which gives them access to online play and Classic Games from the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Game Boy, however users can also buy the Expansion Pack which gives them free passes for certain DLC in various games, as well as accessing the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64 Classic Games.

Online Features[]
NSO's online features for Kirby Switch titles varies differently as only three of the five supported games use online multiplayer.
Super Kirby Clash[]
While players can play Party Quests by themselves, a NSO subscription is required to use the Online Plaza where players can join in with other players' quests or create their own match and fight together to help defeat bosses, clear Heroic Missions, and/or farm EXP as completing a match online earns 1.3 times more EXP than playing alone. Playing online also costs half the vigor than they usually do than playing alone. Stickers are encouraged to be used online to express emotions to other players. Heroic Missions that require the usage of a Support Item such as an EXP Orb or Potion are given to all players even if only one player has used one.
Kirby Fighters 2[]
NSO allows access to Online Mode where players can play against other players in a Random Match or in a Friend Match. Random Matches are fought only in 2v2 battles; if not enough players can be found (4), then the match is abandoned. Players are given a winning streak for the number of consecutive wins. Earning first place earns 800 Fighters Points whereas getting second is only 500, however a 1.2 multiplier is given for playing an online Network Battle. In a Friend Match, players can play against friends who also own the game and set their own rules such as toggling team battles, stages, and handicaps.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land[]
While the game doesn't support online multiplayer, a NSO subscription is required for Wise Waddle Dee to relay facts to Kirby about certain in-game statistics from across the world. Kirby can still talk to him without a subscription, but accepting his request about "[hearing] the latest info from around the world" without one will result in him telling Kirby to connect online for him to share said info. The Wise Waddle Dee figure can still be earned without NSO.
Kirby's Dream Buffet[]
Online Mode requires a NSO subscription as it allows players to compete against each other online. Players can choose between a Random Match with random players or a Password Match to play in a private lobby with friends who also know the password online. Both options pit players in a Grand Prix with no other modes to choose from. A one minute timer is given in the waiting lobby for Random Matches and immedietly starts when all four players are found whereas in a Password Match, the timer is increased to two minutes and can be immediately started whenever a second player joins. A 1.80 bonus for the Gourmet Rank is given for playing any online match.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[]
Similar to the Wise Waddle Dee and his worldwide facts, a NSO subscription is required to hear Manager Magolor's in-game facts about Merry Magoland from around the world. A subscription is also required to play Samurai Kirby 100 where a player competes against 99 other Kirbys to achieve the fastest time; without a subscription Samurai Kirby 100 cannot be played and thus the missions cannot be completed.
Classic Games[]
The Classic Games service is one of the features that NSO users can have access to allowing them to play select games from the Game Boy, NES, and SNES. With the Expansion Pack, users receive access to select games from the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64. Some games also have a "SP Special" label on them which typically is a 100% completed version of the respective game. Notably, this is the first time Kirby's Star Stacker for the Super Famicom has received any sort of release overseas, albeit without localization.

Special Version Blurbs[]
“ | In this special version of Kirby's Adventure, you can start playing through the Extra Game right away. This mode is usually available only after bating the game once. Aside from that, the Sound Test is available right away too! You can press the B Button to stop playing a song from playing, but the Kirby soundtrack always has a way of getting stuck in your head, doesn't it?” |

“ | In this special version of Kirby Super Star, the secret modes are all unlocked! Revenge of Meta Knight, Milky Way Wishes, and the Arena are all available – plus there’s the Sound Room menu, a staple of the Kirby series. In Milky Way Wishes, you can’t copy abilities from enemies like you normally would, but you can collect abilities by using the Deluxe Copy Ability. Then you can use an ability you’ve collected as much as you want, so there’s no need to hold back!” |

“ | In this special version of Kirby’s Dream Course, all the secret modes have been unlocked! With everything opened up, you have a few different options available you can choose from that aren’t available otherwise. These new options include Play Extra Course (both under 1Play Game and under 2Play Game), Normal Course and Extra Course (under Map Select), and even the Dance Select option inside the Sound Room. It’s time to dance!” |

“ | In this special version of Kirby’s Dream Land 3, all secret modes are unlocked. When the original version was released in Japan in 1998, the Japanese website read, “Games these days are really difficult. Wouldn’t you like to glide smoothly and easily? The wait is over, because Kirby is back, and he’s ready to play with anyone and everyone! Kirby and his friends are on a mission to save PopStar, but in this special version, Kirby’s already glided in to save PopStar and has easily achieved a 100% completion rate. All of the stages are available, but that’s not all. You can also listen to all the songs from the game in Sound Room under Option, or you can play Super NES MG5 (in which you play the five mini-games in a row, one after another). Jumping, and Boss Butch! With everything cleared, you can even view all of the event scenes and each of the three endings.” |
