Nidoo is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Dream Land 3. It gives no Copy Ability when inhaled (and cannot be inhaled in Kirby: Triple Deluxe).
Physical Appearance[]
Nidoo is a black blob with white eyes (green eyes in Kirby: Triple Deluxe) that resembles Gooey. It can take on the appearance of several objects, which vary from game to game.
Games[]
Kirby's Dream Land 3[]
Nidoo disguises itself as a door, and when Kirby comes close enough, it shows its true form and then bounces around. Nidoos can be distinguished from real doors by looking at their shade of color; Nidoos are always lighter colored than a normal door.

Nidoo appears in certain haunted stages, such as Stage 4 of Lollipop Land and Stage 3 of Wild World. Nidoo now tries to attack Kirby by slamming down on him when he tries to enter the fake door. A variant of Nidoo, known as Niloor, disguises itself as a large platform. It will disappear shortly after Kirby sets foot on it, often dropping the hero into a pit or spikes.
A few Nidoos disguise themselves as paintings with doors drawn on them, known as Art Nidoos. If Kirby tries to enter the door, the Nidoo will reveal itself and slam down on him. Using Hypernova to remove a curtain from a window lets light shine in, causing the Art Nidoos go up in flames and the real door to be revealed.
Etymology[]
Nidoo comes from ニ/似 (ni), meaning "similar," and ドー (dō), which is "door" (ドア Doa) without the R, thus "doo." The floor variant, Niloor, comes from "similar" and ロア (roa), which is from "floor" (フロア Furoa) without the F, thus "loor."
Trivia[]
- In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Nidoo's snicker sound effect is copied from Sphere Doomer's snicker in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
