Nago is one of Kirby's Animal Friends who appears in Kirby's Dream Land 3. He is a cat and is about twice Kirby's size. For transportation Nago rolls Kirby into a ball and rolls him along. He also can accomplish a triple jump in midair, unlike the other animal friend like him, Rick the Hamster, who can jump once off the ground but can climb against walls. Shiro is Nago's love interest in Kirby's Dream Land 3.
Nago's name may be a pun on Neko, the Japanese word for "cat".
Nago also appears as a cameo in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, when Kirby uses the Stone Friends ability (which is a combination of Cutter and Stone). Like in Kirby's Dream Land 3, he can jump thrice, yet is very slow.
A similar character appeared in the anime. He was Kawasaki's friend, Nagoya, which also uses the word Nago in it. In the Japanese comic strips, Nago is easily put off and is enemies with Pitch.
Nago later appears as a sticker in Kirby: Planet Robobot.
Nago appears in Kirby Star Allies as part of Cleaning's moveset.
Physical Appearance
Nago appears to be a round, pudgy Japanese Bobtail cat with brown ears and tail, three whiskers and orange spots on his head and back. He has small arms and legs. His arms and legs are sometimes absent from in-game sprites, official artwork, and Ado's drawings. Nago's eyes are almost always closed, being opened only when Kirby chooses another Animal Friend over him and when he is attacking with the Needle ability.
