Mossy is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Mass Attack.

Physical Appearance

Mossy is a blue, fuzzy creature with wide eyes, rosy cheeks, and a body largely covered with curly fur. It doesn't appear to have limbs, a mouth, or a nose. While floating, Mossy has a fluffier appearance, with its rosy cheeks being invisible and its eyes being shut. When it attacks, its fur forms sharp spikes similar to a hedgehog's.

Games

Kirby Mass Attack

Mossy appears in the later stages of Dedede Resort, namely Stages 8, 9, 10, and 11. It floats gently down from the sky and moves around the ground upon landing. When threatened, it juts out spikes that can damage the Kirbys. Despite this, Mossy can be defeated quickly with even a single Kirby. Mossy is more vulnerable while floating in the air, as the Kirbys don't need to pummel it at all, instead being able to slam it onto the ground, instantly defeating it.

In Stage 7 of Volcano Valley, Mossy is the most common enemy used in Ill Gate traps. A variant called Space Mossy appears in Stage 11 of the same level.

Mossy also appears as one of the objects used to obscure the player's vision in the Kirby Curtain Call sub-game.

Trivia

  • There are sprites of larger, turquoise-colored Mossys in the game's data, but these are not present in-game.
