Metal Bit[1] is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It yields the Beam ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance[]

Metal Bit is a small white robot that resembles a flying saucer. It has four white feet for landing and a light blue head (that switches between light blue and white in Kirby: Planet Robobot). This head occasionally pops up, revealing one red eye. In Extra Mode, the enemy has a gray body, a red head, and a yellow eye. In Meta Knightmare Returns, it has a light blue body, black feet, a white head, and a red eye.

Games[]

Kirby's Return to Dream Land and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[]

Metal Bit is a minion of the boss of Egg Engines, Metal General. The robot releases three of them as an attack after 50% or more of its health bar is depleted. The enemies dart around the area in a random pattern, occasionally stopping to fire an electrical blast at Kirby. Each Metal Bit can shoot up to two beams (or none at all) before self-destructing in a small explosion.

In Extra Mode, Metal Bits act largely the same way. Metal General EX can release them at any point in the fight, and releases them in two waves: a pair and then a trio. They move about just as erratically as in Main Mode and fire as many projectiles. When the boss's health is at or below 50%, it gains a new attack. Metal General EX hovers in the air in the middle of the stage and deploys six Metal Bits horizontally. They fire beams downward and then rearrange themselves. After three beams, they all explode.

Kirby: Planet Robobot[]

In this game, Metal Bits are produced by Security Force, a recreation of Metal General manufactured by the Haltmann Works Company. They behave almost exactly as they do in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, though some elements of them have undergone changes. They now make high-pitched sounds as they dart around. Their explosion when self-destructing is merely a puff of smoke rather than a fiery burst.

In Meta Knightmare Returns, Metal Bits act largely the same way. Security Force 2.0 produces two pairs of them at a time rather than a pair and a trio. When its health is at or below 50%, it gains the same new attack as Metal General EX, though it only uses five Metal Bits rather than six.
