Mariel is a dark spider-like enemy made of Dark Matter. His physical appearance is like that of a round black ball with four spider-like legs that he can retract from his own body, as well as white eyes. In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, he appears a lot less solid. When Kirby comes close enough, Mariel will open his eyes, extend his legs, and walk towards Kirby. Mariel is also unique in the fact that he will give Kirby damage if he swallows him, similarly to what Whispy's Revenge's poison apples will do to Kirby if he tries to eat them. Mariel appears in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
