Mabel is a character appearing in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, making her debut (albeit unseen) in The Fofa Factor. She is a rather portly clairvoyant and fortune teller of Cappy Town. The Cappies often go to her in order to have their future predicted or to help solve their woes.

Later in the series, Mabel reveals that she really doesn't have any psychic powers, but still takes delight in helping the Cappies solve their problems. Mabel simply listens to what Samo, the barman and her presumed love interest, overhears at the bar. After learning what is on each of the Cappies' minds, she can easily give them advice in the form of one of her predictions.

Physical Appearance

Mabel is a pear-shaped Cappy who wears a purple and orange headdress with a large amethyst center. Along with this head accessory, she wears hoop earrings, magenta-colored lipstick, and two golden bangles on each of her wrists. She has four large eyelashes, further emphasizing her feminine appearance.

Personality

Mabel has a strong dislike for King Dedede, and is one of the few Cappies to outright criticize and openly oppose him. This rebellious behavior does not go unnoticed by the other Cappies, and they often look up to her for speaking out against the king's tyrannical behavior. Because of this, Dedede harbors negative feeling towards her, also. However, because he occasionally gets superstitious, he looks to her for predictions. Mabel takes advantage of this, and tries her best to manipulate the King into actually helping Dream Land.

Trivia

  • When Sir Gallant crash lands, he humorously mistakes Mabel for a princess from the many, many comic books and movies he has.
  • In Combat Kirby, she is proven to be quite strong, as she is the only character who can lift a dumbbell.

  • In the episode Frog Wild (which was originally called "Devil Kirby"), the way Mabel reacts when Devil Kirby destroys her crystal ball is based off the famous Scream painting.
