Lanzer is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It yields the Spear ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance

Lanzer is a small purple creature with yellow markings on both its chest and its back. The enemy wears a shiny purple helmet resembling that of Sir Kibble, as well as purple shoes. Lanzer's hands are yellow, and do not appear to be attached to its body. The enemy grips a small metal trident with a wooden handle. Lanzer's luminous blue eyes shine through the visor of its helmet.

Lanzer bears a minor resemblance to Trident Knight.

Games

Kirby's Return to Dream Land

Lanzer will either stand in place, or walk around its area. Upon nearing the player, Lanzer will attempt to skewer him/her with a quick thrust of its trident. Unlike regular Lanzers, the aforementioned Insect Lanzers may vary their walking speed.

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition

Lanzer appears in the New Challenge Stages mode, specifically in the Fighter Combat Chamber.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

Aside from ordinary Lanzer, a variation known as Insect Lanzer appears on Royal Road, serving as Queen Sectonia's minion.

Etymology

Lanzer's name is derived from the word lancer, referencing its knight-like appearance.
