— Official description for Kirby and the Forgotten Land |
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is an upcoming 3D platformer Kirby game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. The game was announced in a Nintendo Direct on September 23, 2021 and is planned to release worldwide in Spring 2022.[1]
Story
Kirby awakens on a beach of an unknown world to find a city from a "past civilization", overgrown with fauna and teeming with creatures and enemies.
Gameplay
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the first fully mainline title in the Kirby series to take place in a 3D space, with a platforming control scheme that appears reminiscent of that of the Kirby: Planet Robobot sub-game Kirby 3D Rumble and Kirby's Blowout Blast. The game's environmental design seems to take cues from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
