— Kirby Manga Mania description • Back cover of English release

Kirby Manga Mania is a manga series based on the Kirby series written by Hirokazu Hikawa (ひかわ 博一). These volumes are mainly collections of stories from throughout the series Kirby of the Stars: The Story of Dedede Who Lives In Pupupu that are published by Shogakukan in Japan and by Viz Media in North America. These collections began to be released in 2018 in Japan and in North America on June 8, 2021.

Localization

Starting in 2018, volumes serving as a "best-of collection" spanning the author's favorite stories from the series began to be released in Japan. The volumes also contain new stories and bonus comics drawn by the mangaka. These volumes began to be released in English by Viz Media on June 8th, 2021, one decade after the original comics were planned to be released, under the name Kirby Manga Mania.[2]

Canonicity

The manga is not considered to be canon. While it draws from the premises introduced in the games, it introduces new characters, events, places, and Copy Abilities and Mix abilities never seen in the games or in the anime.

The manga features all of the major characters in the series, including Meta Knight, King Dedede, all Animal Friends, Dyna Blade, Dyna Chick, and many of the regular enemies, bosses, and mid-bosses in the games.
