Kirby's Gourmet Race (星のカービィぱくぱくグルメレース, Hoshi no Kābyi Pakupaku Gurume Rēsu, lit. meaning "Kirby of the Stars: Munch-Munch Gourmet Race") is an Japan-only arcade game based on the Kirby series.
General Information[]
Kirby's Gourmet Race was announced on October 27, 2022, as an arcade game developed by Bandai-Namco, that was released in Japan only near the end of 2022.[1] The goal of the game is to launch as many balls and Maxim Tomatoes into Kirby's mouth as possible. It is intended to be played with one or two players, with one player taking on the role of Kirby and the other taking on the role of King Dedede.
Normal balls are smaller and worth 1 point while Maxim Tomatoes are larger and worth 10, lighting up the middle portion of the display and playing a 1UP sound effect and Kirby voice clip when they are scored. After a first round lasting 30 seconds, the second round begins, lasting 20 seconds with a 2x point score multiplier applied. After this, a final roulette appears offering the chance of a 3x, 4x or 5x multiplier during a final 5 second score period.
Kirby's Gourmet Race is based on the sub-game Gourmet Race that debuted in Kirby Super Star, and uses the main theme from that sub-game as its music.
