King D-Mind is a main antagonist and final boss in the Kirby series, appearing in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. He is fought during the final two missions of the Decisive Battlefield.
Appearance
King D-Mind's first form has a similar appearance to Shadow Dedede with a purple color scheme and Dark Mind's crown. His hammer contains an eye logo, similar to the one found on Parallel Susie's mech. He also has spikes on his back similar to those found in Dark Mind's first form. Much like Shadow Dedede, he wields a halberd during his second phase. He also gains the ability to enlarge his stomach, which removes his limbs and completely transforms him. In this new form he looks similar to a purple version of Dark Mind's second form, with a large mouth not unlike a possessed King Dedede's stomach.
When he appears for the second and final time, his color scheme has changed to a black/grey mix with a cyan shine. His mouth form now looks completely similar to Dark Mind's second form, with the only exception being that it's inside King D-Mind's mouth-stomach. Along with his Hammer and Halberd's color scheme being replaced with a black and platinum texturing, along with the cyan shine.
Trivia
- His theme is a mixture of Masked Dedede's and Dark Mind's themes.
- Many projectiles from the original Masked Dedede/Shadow Dedede fight are replaced with stars, including the hammer's missiles and the halberd's energy balls.
- This boss marks the first time in the series that Dark Mind (or at least one of his forms) appears in 3D rather than artwork or a sprite.
