The Jet Star is an air machine in Kirby Air Ride. It is known for charging its boosting gauge while it glides and for an immediate boost at the beginning of a glide.
Facts
It is a member of the "high-tech" family of machines that are unlocked when the player races over 4,500 ft. in Machine Passage.
Its name comes from its unique trait that makes it gain a significant boost of speed every time it launches off of a ramp. The Jet Star makes a viable choice in any mode in Kirby Air Ride. While its Top Speed appears high, the Jet Star cannot reach this speed normally and is in fact quite slow. In order to reach the speed designated to it, the Jet Star must constantly go from ramp to ramp to gain its boost of speed when launching off of a ramp. This is necessary; each ramp boost will skyrocket the Jet Star's speed to 50-60 mph for less than a second. Boost pads exert this to greater effect, making the Jet Star go at 80-90 mph for the same amount of time.
