If you attack it enough to destroy it, you'll get the powerful item hidden inside.

The Ice Container is an item in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Fighters 2.

Physical Appearance

The Ice Container is a massive rectangular block of ice. It is light blue in color. Three items are visible inside it.

Kirby Fighters 2

The Ice Container is heavy; when it lands on the stage, it can barely be moved. To use it, Kirby must hit it several times. The ice cracks after withstanding a few attacks, and shatters completely after an onslaught. It drops three random items after breaking, which range from minor to powerful. These include food, Dash Shoes, Cheer Pom-Poms, Cracklers, Maxim Tomatoes, Invincible Candy, Gordo Balls, Mikes, and more. Larger items like Zap Weapons and Buddy Star Blaster pieces cannot fit inside the container and are thus omitted from its possible inventory.

If an Ice Container disappears without being broken, its items vanish as well. In Story Mode: The Destined Rivals, Kirby can break the ice more easily by obtaining an Ice Container Breaking Sticker from the Item Room.

  • The Ice Container is the only non-environmental item in the series that exists to distribute other items.
    • As a result of its purpose as an item distributor, the Ice Container is the only item in the series that does not fit into any one category. It does not empower or heal Kirby directly like a Power-up, cannot be acquired like a Collectible, cannot be carried or mounted like a Carry or Mountable item, and cannot attack characters like a Weapon item.
  • The Ice Container cannot appear in Single-Handed Mode.
