The Gem Apple Seed is a powerful item in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. Magolor seeks to assemble it so he can recover his abilities and escape from Another Dimension after being defeated by Kirby.
Physical Appearance[]
The Gem Apple Seed resembles a very large crystalline apple adorned with two rows of simple golden filaments. Unlike the Fruit Fragments used to create it, its skin is mostly red, fading to yellow near its base; it also has a short brown stem on top. It is surrounded by intertwining roots which are brown in the middle, yellow near the top of the apple, and purple near the bottom.
When held within the Crowned Doomer, the Gem Apple Seed is reduced to its crystalline core, looking rather like a giant Gem Apple trapped within an Energy Sphere.
When taken over by the Master Crown, The Gem Apple Seed grows into a large Gem Apple Tree with green, dark purple, and cyan leaves, drill-like roots and a pair of large wings as the Master Crown itself is entwined across the entire trunk of the tree, including it's arms and wings.
After the Master Crown is destroyed, the Gem Apple Seed is reduced to a much smaller form, similar to a Gem Apple but with a sprout coming from it's top.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[]
In an effort to restore his lost magical powers, Magolor begins gathering Fruit Fragments from Another Dimension; upon doing so, each fragment appears on the Ethereal Altar as a torch ignites with a green flame. When five fragments are assembled, the torches' flames all become orange; upon returning to the Altar, Magolor witnesses the Fruit Fragments uniting to form the Gem Apple Seed.
Before Magolor can do anything, the newly-formed Gem Apple Seed is struck by the fragments of the Master Crown, which uses the seed to form the Crowned Doomer in order to battle Magolor. When the Doomer falls, the Master Crown merges with the Gem Apple Seed itself, transforming into a tree-like abomination to fight Magolor once again. When the Master Crown is destroyed for good, the Gem Apple Seed creates a portal for Magolor to use in order to escape Another Dimension; transporting him in the Dream Kingdom's Castle Village.
After the Master Crown's defeat, the Gem Apple Seed became a sprouting Gem Apple that went along with Magolor to the Dream Kingdom, which he plants in the Castle Village to eventually grow into a large Gem Apple Tree.
Trivia[]
- As the Fruit Fragments correspond to the pieces of the Lor Starcutter, the Gem Apple Seed can be considered a counterpart to the ship's mast, being the apparent final collectible that is stolen and used as the core of a powerful Doomer boss.
- When the Gem Apple Seed is split into five Fruit Fragments, its skin is green and blue, unlike its completed form, which is red.
