Gao Gao is a mammal-like mid-boss in the Kirby series, appearing only in Kirby: Squeak Squad. He grants Kirby the Animal Copy Ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance

He has a light blue belly and royal blue body. He has three large tan-yellow claws on his front paws, and orange pads on the the underside of all his paws. He doesn't have whiskers, but has blue ovals where whiskers could go. He has a furry head and two small, cute eyes along with messy-hair looking ears on the top of his head. He also has strong, long range arms.

Kirby: Squeak Squad

Gao Gao attacks by jumping high in the air and then drilling downward, and spinning with his arms extended. After spinning, he will stumble back and forth with his eyes squinted due to fatigue. Spinning also creates two stars that can be spat back at him. However, Animal Kirby cannot mimic Gao Gao's spin-claw attack until he earns the Animal Scroll. Gao Gao is likely related to Gaw Gaw.

Etymology

Gao Gao's name comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia for roaring/growling (ガオー), referencing Gao Gao's Animal ability.
