Fish that sometimes appear out of water, Floppers pose little danger to Kirby and are more of an obstacle than an enemy.
— Description • Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Official Strategy Guide (Prima)

Flopper is a mostly harmless enemy found in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It gives no ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance[]

Flopper is a small red fish with round eyes, a white underbelly, and yellow fins. It has a triangular tail that has the same hue as its body.

Games[]

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[]

Flopper makes its only appearance thus far in this game. It is similar in terms of behavior to Blipper. It, like its name suggests, flops around when on land. When it is found in water, it simply just swims around. When Kirby holds it above his head in water, it propels him forward.

Flopper also appears in the 100-Yard Hop sub-game.

Etymology[]

Flopper's name comes from "flop," referencing its behavior when on land.

Its Japanese name, ギョッパー (Gyoppā), uses the onyomi pronunciation for the Japanese word for fish, 魚 (Gyo).
