This article is about the Water enemy in Kirby Star Allies. For other uses of the term "Floaty", see Floaty (disambiguation). |
Floaty the Cell Core[1] is a large enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Star Allies. It yields the Water ability when inhaled.
Physical Appearance[]
Floaty the Cell Core is a large, round, red creature with four spherical bumps protruding from each side of its body. It has a peach-colored face with two maroon eyes. The enemy floats inside a bubble of water shaped roughly like its body.
Games[]
Kirby Star Allies[]
Floaty the Cell Core first appears in the stage Eastern Wall (in the third level, the Jambastion). There are two main variants:
- The first hovers in place and periodically fires blobs of water in whatever direction it is facing.
- The second, however, slowly drifts toward Kirby while occasionally stopping to attack, firing the blobs of water in his direction (either up, down, left or right; whichever is closest).
The water blobs Floaty fires cannot be inhaled. Floaty and his projectiles are particularly weak to icy and electrical attacks due to the fact they are made of water. (Floaty the Cell Cores will not be frozen in a cuboid ice block if defeated by ice attacks, instead being an ice-block shaped like their original water bubble.)
Floaty appears in the game's boss rush mode, The Ultimate Choice, as a part of Mid-Boss All-Stars #2. Two Floaties appear in the three hardest levels of difficulty (Fiery Showdown, Infernal Crisis and Soul Melter), between Chef Kawasaki and Twin Vividria.
Two Floaties appear once more during the fight against Mr. Frosty in Soul Melter EX.
Trivia[]
- Floaty the Cell Core is one of the six enemies in Kirby Star Allies that grants a Copy Ability but cannot be captured with a Friend Heart; the other five being Donpuffle, Noddy, Walky, Shield Guard, and Bomber.
- Floaty the Cell Core and Shield Guard are the only two of these enemies who grant a Copy Ability that has a Helper.
