Fire Snoozroot is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Mass Attack. It is a variant of Snoozroot.

Physical Appearance[]

Fire Snoozroot is a pinkish red red plant enemy with a long segmented bead-like stem with two leaves at its base. It has an ovular head, white cheek blushes, large white lips, and a lavender bow on the top of its head.

Games[]

Kirby Mass Attack[]

Fire Snoozroot appears exclusively in Stage 1 of Volcano Valley. Like other Snoozroot variants, it is found sleeping. When the Kirbys approach, it awakens and, after a moment, spits a fireball. Any Kirby hit by it catches fire; if the player does not cool them off with water before the gauge completely depletes, they disintegrate. This makes them impossible to revive, and the player must instead replace them by collecting fruit.

Fire Snoozroot can be easily defeated with just a few Kirbys or repeated attacks from one. Like other fiery enemies in Volcano Valley, it is extremely vulnerable to water of all kinds. When hydrated, it turns light blue and becomes stunned. It can then be defeated in less than a second by a single Kirby. One particular Fire Snoozroot is situated inside a pillar of flame, so the player must cool it off before fighting it.

Etymology[]

Its Japanese name, ウトファイア (Utofaia), comes from the Japanese name of Snoozroot, ウトウト (Utouto), which comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia for dozing off; and fire, ファイア (faia), referring to its fire-spitting attack.
