There are two of those giant Spinwheel Flowers somewhere on this island. Except that the second one isn't really a harmless flower. It will cut you if you're not careful. I've heard that one has a medal, and you'll need to pluck its nasty petals to get it.

Spinwheel Flower is a large enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Mass Attack.

Physical Appearance[]

Spinwheel Flowers have tall, wavy stems similar to Snoozroots. At the top of the stem is the receptacle, which is a yellow circle with a red question mark. Spinwheel Flowers come in three variations: those with four orange petals with yellow tips, ones with eight orange petals with yellow at the base that are skinnier, and those with three orange petals with yellow tips and a single petal magenta petal. This petal has an orange "forehead," eyes, and a jagged mouth, and its edges are covered in a row of ten blue spikes. As the name suggests, the petals spin around the receptacle of the flower.

Games[]

Kirby Mass Attack[]

The Spinwheel Flowers are only found in Stage 6 of Green Grounds and Stage 1 of Sandy Canyon. As their name suggests, they have large petals that continuously spin around its center, which have red question marks. The Kirbys have to jump on the petals and remove each of them in order to reveal fruit or an item in a bubble. Most of these flowers have four petals, but some of them have eight. It should also be noted that one variant of the flowers is actually a Snoozroot in disguise.

The most dangerous Spinwheel Flower variant is one with a spiky petal. Two appear in the whole game. The petal damages any Kirby that touches it. To defeat the seemingly sentient petal, the Kirbys must grab and pluck the three surrounding petals or touch it under the effects of Invincible Candy. The foe stops and lets out a shrill screech before exploding, and the Spinwheel Flower's head pops to reveal a medal inside a bubble.

Related Quotes[]

How's that little game go? She loves me... She loves me not... I think that game doesn't apply to some of the flowers here. They're not going to love you if you pull their petals off!

Trivia[]

  • The Japanese version of Kirby Mass Attack counts the Spinwheel Flower, specifically its spiky petal, as an enemy. It bears no such distinction in the English version.
