Monster transmitter

King Dedede and Escargoon using the Monster Transmitter as seen in Hour of the WolfWrath.

The Monster Transmitter, also known as the Monster Delivery System and the Nightmare Enterprises Teleporter, is a device appearing in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!. It is regularly used by King Dedede to purchase and download monsters, items, and other products provided by Nightmare Enterprises.

General Information[]

In the episode Abusement Park, Dedede, Escargoon, and the N.M.E. Sales Guy planned to host a karaoke contest and use it as a trap to have the Monster Transmitter upload Kirby to Nightmare's Fortress and have several Monster Soldiers ambush him. Unfortunately for them, the plan backfired as Mike Kirby's singing proved too much for the Monster Soldiers, leaving the N.M.E. Sales Guy no choice but to send Kirby back to Planet Popstar.

Another Monster Transmitter exists inside the Haunted Mansion in Scare Tactics, and Dedede, Escargoon, and the N.M.E. Sales Guy planned to trick Kirby into trying to save them from a torture scene in an attempt to upload him to the fortress again. Meta Knight prevented this from happening, leaving the N.M.E. Sales Guy to send Gabon to try to abduct Kirby, which was foiled as well when Kirby became Fire Kirby and destroyed it along with the mansion.

Knuckle Joe also owns a Monster Transmitter of his own on his home planet, as shown in the episode Masher 2.0.

In Cappy Town Down, the Monster Transmitter was blown up by Destroyas, and the N.M.E. Sales Guy offered to fix it if Dedede could blow up the Halberd. Later, the transmitter was fixed by Professor Curio in Fright to the Finish, enabling Kirby and the Halberd crew to deliver themselves home from Nightmare's Fortress after Nightmare himself was defeated.

Features[]

The Monster Transmitter in Castle Dedede reveals several features whenever King Dedede activates it for the purpose of buying monsters, such as:

  • A coil in the ceiling with blinking lights that comes through the ceiling light.
  • A set of two monitors, in one of which the N.M.E. Sales Guy appears.
  • A base underneath the ceiling coil with its own blinking lights that rises from the floor.
  • A set of four spotlights that surround the transmitter's base.
  • A video camera, microphone, and several speakers that can be used for communication.
  • An inverted coil that forms over Dedede's head. Its purpose is unknown, but it might be used for mind reading.
