The Space Jump[1][2][3] is a move mainly used by Helpers and support characters such as King Dedede, Meta Knight, Bandana Waddle Dee, Gooey, and all other Dream Friends. This teleports any helper to Player 1 if they lag behind and go off-screen, or if it is triggered by the player, as the camera is centered to follow Player 1.

This ability can be activated manually by holding the A Button in Kirby Super Star, Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby Star Allies, the X button in Kirby Super Star Ultra, or the B Button in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. In Kirby Super Star and its remake, holding down the button locks the teleport in Kirby's location until the button is released and repeatedly tapping the button causes the Helper to Hyper and self-destruct.

A similar phenomenon occurs in Kirby's Epic Yarn multiplayer. If a player presses A on the Wii Remote (this can be either player, not just Player 2), Angie will appear to carry the player to the other; pressing 2 while being carried will make Angie fly faster.

In the Super Smash Bros. series[]

The Space Jump also appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where it can occur during the Subspace Emissary whenever Player 2 fails to keep up with Player 1; this can also be manually triggered by holding the pause button.
