KO Robo Bonkers! Do the most damage!
— Description • Kirby Battle Royale

Robo Bonkers is a boss in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Battle Royale. Its name is shared with one of the ten battle modes in Kirby Battle Royale.

Physical Appearance[]

Robo Bonkers is a titanic robot built in Bonkers' image. It sports a purple paint job with some gray elements, glowing eyes, and large lumps on the sides of its head. Its torso has a screen that displays different images to reflect the robot's status. Bolts and vents are present in its exterior, and a large black jet pack is built into its back. Robo Bonkers does not carry a mallet, but instead transforms its hands into mallet heads by shifting the metal plates in its forearms.

Robo Bonkers DX looks largely the same as its normal counterpart. It has a red and gray color scheme with a black torso. Vents are added to its shoulders and spikes are added to its forearms. Caution tape is applied to Robo Bonkers DX's jet pack.

Robo Bonkers SDX looks similar as well. It is plated in metallic gold and silver metal. It has spikes on its forearms and shoulders.

Games[]

Kirby Battle Royale[]

In The Cake Royale, Robo Bonkers is first played in the first Silver League Battle. Players attack Robo Bonkers in order to gain points. The player/team that does the most damage wins; it is unlocked for 800 battle coins.

Battle Mode[]

Players are in a ring-shaped arena, with Robo Bonkers situated in the middle. It can attack the players by pounding them with fists that transform into hammers, which lower the grounded platforms, causing a dangerous electrical current to flow through. Players can attack Robo Bonkers by throwing missiles, which are found in boxes, into a cannon; each missile does 300 damage. Players can also enter the cannon, and do 100 damage to Robo Bonkers upon being fired, but also take some damage; rivals can be thrown into the cannon as well in order to obtain the 100 points while also doing additional damage to the rival.

After depleting a portion of its health bar, Robo Bonkers will collapse onto the ring. When it collapses, 4 platforms will appear, but two will be destroyed by Robo Bonkers' head; his arms will also cause two grounded platforms to collapse per arm, making it a bit tougher to approach the head due to the electric currents. The added platforms and Robo Bonkers' head being on the arena allow the players to freely damage it. Players can damage each other as well, but it only serves to slow them down, as points cannot be stolen.

After depleting all of its health, Robo Bonkers gets back up with a second health bar, and a new attack; shooting lasers from his eyes. Golden Missiles can now appear, which deal much more damage than regular missiles and stun Robo Bonkers. After taking enough damage, Robo Bonkers collapses onto the ring again, allowing players to attack directly; at this point, the music changes. Upon depleting all of its health, Robo Bonkers explodes, and the players that performed the finishing blow get a point bonus; 2000 if a single player got the finishing blow, 1500 if two players got the finishing blow, and 1000 if three players got the finishing blow.

Stages[]

Robo Bonkers[]

Robo Bonkers collapses when 40% of its health bar is depleted. Its laser attack travels 1/4 of the ring. Golden Missiles do 1500 damage to Robo Bonkers.

Robo Bonkers DX[]

Robo Bonkers DX is slightly more dangerous than Robo Bonkers, as it deals more damage with all its attacks. It typically slams three consecutive platforms in the ring in succession rather than just one. During its second phase, the beam the robot fires moves across the entire circumference of the stage quickly, making it more hazardous. Robo Bonkers collapses when 50% of its second health bar is depleted rather than 40%. Golden Missiles do 1500 damage to Robo Bonkers DX.

Robo Bonkers SDX[]

Robo Bonkers SDX is the most dangerous of the three robots, having more attack power than either of the two previous models. It typically slams three consecutive segments of the platform in succession rather than just one. During its second phase, it gains the ability to slam two segments of floor at once, as well as the ability to fire laser beams. Golden Missiles do 2000 damage against Robo Bonkers SDX, as opposed to 1500.
